    Why did anyone seriously think that this was going to be PG-13? Especially after the first one still managed to get a PG rating despite being a bit more mature than your average family film.

    DeSantis has all the charisma of a paper bag, his political instincts have proven to be lacking, and there's little about him that people outside of far right crazies in FL find appealing. We should still take him seriously, but he's not invincible.

    The folks at Pixar can only hope.

    Looks generic but has a straightforward premise. It seems like back-to-basics Pixar and doesn't seem to be confusing people like Lightyear was.

    That's why I don't see it collapsing like Lightyear did. Minions 2 stole all the oxygen in the room and delivered what families wanted from an animated Summer movie. Ruby Gillman could surprise, but that has even less awareness than Elemental does now.

    Aren't all Pixar trailers like this? Basic premise, looks derivative or weird, then the movie usually takes people by surprise.

    Hell, even Strange World had put out more trailers than Ruby Gillman has at this point.

    Indiana Jones 5 is opening on that same weekend.

    My guess is maybe they're hoping that word of mouth via Cannes and Annecy will give it a boost.

    I'll definitely be seeing this in theaters.

    Well... they've been hemorrhaging money and this movie has a hefty price tag. So that's not completely inaccurate.

    Letting Zack Snyder take over was part of why the DCEU has so much baggage is about to be rebooted in the first place.

    That may lead to more spoilers getting out and a sizeable chunk of people seeing it by then.

    I think Mission Impossible might be the only version of a franchise reboot that managed to get away with this.

    By all indications, the movie is really good. But, when your lead star is in rehab and has too many scandals to do press tours, you need to find any alternatives possible to promote the movie.

    Desperation from WB? Maybe. But, any press not involving Ezra Miller is still good press.

    Definitely. Elemental needs similar reactions to stand a chance.

    Damn. Maybe it could pick up a bit as it gets closer? Otherwise, this spells trouble.

    The reviews that come out of Cannes will be critical. Best case scenario, it has good word of mouth and walkups compensate.

    We'll see. But I won't be surprised. Better hope that Cannes screening helps the word of mouth and that it's walkup heavy.
