Alan Horn was SORELY missed when he left for Disney. That single departure was enormously impactful.
When did he leave again?

Saw it. Wasn't a great movie, but I had a lot of fun watching it.

I have to imagine that they'll be happy if Black Adam pulls in $60M this weekend.

Interesting, but baffling move.

THE SUICIDE SQUAD was great, but look at what happened to it. 😭
The Suicide Squad got saddled with an HBO Max release, an R-Rating that limited what audiences could see it, and suffered from the bad reception of the first movie

Projections should improve at least a bit now that Dune moved up two weeks.

Based on these reactions, a high 50 or low 60 RT would be a best case scenario.

Curious when the last time there was positive news out of WBD?
The success of The Batman? Or maybe when it was announced that Zaslav was coming in..

They're not going to fire Zaslav. All companies get bad press for layoffs and restructuring, it's par with the course.
Of course he's not going anywhere right now midway through this merger. Really it all depends on what happens after this messy ugly process is complete.

Remember, Zaslav did not cause these problems, he is simply trying to solve them.
Not exactly sure that's panning out well for him. Sure, a bunch of randos saying mean things about him online won't lead to him getting the boot. But at the very least, the almost constant barrage of bad press is going to make the company untenable for the next few years (assuming Zaslav is in this for the long haul).

Maybe Zaslav has calculated that they can weather all of the bad press from these unpopular decisions. But I have my doubts. Especially since each of these cuts only seems to produce more bad press.

Sad what he’s done to the company but he obviously doesn’t care, it’s all about the bottom line to him.
Sad but true.

This is just depressing ...

They really should move this from June. November 3rd, 2023 wouldn't be a bad date if Blade does get pushed back. Or they could move Kraven the Hunter to November and put this in October.
Between Transformers 7, Elemental, and The Flash, this movie is going to struggle a wee bit in its current release date.

Also, Illumination movies have agressive marketing campaign, only 4 of their 12 movies grossed less than 250M, and Mario has a wayyyyy better realease date than Pikachu
1. Spring break + Easter Sunday = Very promising OW
2. Fully animated instead of being a live action hybrid
3. Virtually no competition for families until The Little Mermaid in May

I'm gonna lowball this one for now and say $800-875M WW.

Could be.... though it won't miss it by a lot

So, that model looks... a bit odd. But I don't see this being too much of a deterrent for audiences.
