  1. What a surprise. This is comparable to Marvel making a movie about Miss Marvel instead of the tv series
  2. Poor Toriyama, I hope the videogame made for Sand Land at least will sell a bit better
  3. Some numbers for the week: - Barbie won the fourth weekend in a row, the total is now 27.5M and will incredibly finish above 30M - Meg 2 after a 70% drop is now at 3.8M, but it can still outgross the first - Mission Impossible 7 has basically reached the 5M and now will probably pass MI: Fallout at 5.25M! - Demeter/Dracula opened with 100k euros, and the film unfortunately is basically impossible to find being only in 30 theaters across the country - The Eight Mountains returns to the top 10 and is close to 6M in Italy, after having grossed also 300k in Usa and distributed in several other countries for a 10M WW total
  4. How good is this debut? Now I've returned in Italy but in the last few days I saw some big marketing also for the Ninja Turtles
  5. If anybody has a top 10 or even a top 20 I'll gladly wait for it 👍
  6. Barbie reached an impressive 24.6M, The Meg 2 opened with 2.3M (vs the 1.7M of the first), and good drop of 28% for Mission Impossible now at 4.6M. The 5M will happen 🎉
  7. In Italy the opening weekend was bigger than the first film, and the final total will probably increase too. WW I think it will make more than 350M despite the reviews
  8. Today I've even seen posters for the Italian film "Il Colibrì", I think I'll definitely follow this weekend box office with great interest...
  9. Yeah and in Spain (very similar to us) it already surpassed 10M, so it will definitely get over this mark
  10. Same numbers of yesterday, more than 700k for Barbie and over 500k for The Meg 2. The prequel made only 350k on its second day, so the opening weekend will definitely be higher!
  11. Hey guys, I'm in Paris these days and I was really impressed by the marketing for movies that I see practically on every corner and everywhere I lay my eyes. I must say that I'm quite envious, I wish we had such an interest in cinema here in Italy In any case at least in this arrondissement Gran Turismo and The Meg 2 are definitely the two most heavily advertised films, and I've even seen that the various Detective Conan movies get released in theaters 😮
  12. Barbie at 700k euros, first day under the million, and The Meg 2 opened at 500k which is higher than the first (it ended at 5M)
  13. Yesterday another day over 1M, and today it will surpass Mario! 😮
  14. Yeah it's doing much more than expected, we'll see with how much it will end in a few months
  15. With Kraven, Dune, Wonka etc all possibly delayed I may be "forced" to go see films that I wouldn't have considered before like The Meg, Ninja Turtles or the horror about Dracula as there will probably be almost nothing in the theaters...
  16. Barbie reached 18M euros after just a 30% drop during the weekend, while Mission Impossible with a 40% drop reached 4M (I'm not sure if it can still reach 5M) In the meantime Indiana Jones and Elemental continue their interesting battle after having both a 20% drop and a 5.7M total, with Indiana Jones outgrossing it on the weekdays and Elemental doing the same of the weekends
  17. Yeah for movie releases it's like that, sometimes they even open of wednesday which I hate 🙄
  18. Nice, I guess 90% of this gross comes from Japan right? And in Poland where is was released much later what's the total gross?
  19. Question for the other visitors of the Italy thread, we have seen many movies recovering after a bad opening weekend or even more commonly dropping heavily after a good opening weekend, but have we even seen something reverse the trend after the first two weeks? For example having two bad weeks and then starting having good holds only from the third or having two good weeks and then starting dropping big only from the third?
  20. Damn I'm sorry to hear that, unfortunately crime is low but it's still there, especially in the bigger cities when it comes to stealing things. I hope you aren't agitated anymore and managed to sleep at least a little 😢 I remember that when I was in Rome a guy tried to steal the phone from my dad's pocket since it was sticking out from the back of the trousers, in broad daylight, in the middle of the street and with no people around, as if it was the most normal thing in the world. Luckily he changed his mind and kept walking in another direction as if nothing happened (I saw it from distance but was ready to pursue him in case)
