Here in Italy it had an incredible recovery, 1M opening weekend but thanks to the Christmas holidays it's now at 8M euros

ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' stronger than predecessor
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
We finally have some data for 2023, the total box office was 500M euros and the tickets sold were over 70M The highest grossing movies were C'è Ancora Domani (34.5M), Barbie (32.1M), Oppenheimer (28M) and Super Mario Bros (20.4) C'è Ancora Domani in particular is still in theaters and will soon pass the 5.06M tickets sold by Avatar 2 -

I see the others were lucky, me and my friends had to pay 11 euros... In any case it should play without problems at least for a full week if not two -

Damn, I hope you will recover in time The latest Siani comedy grossed 3M euros so I think this will pass it, while the highest grossing Ghibli movie instead is Spirited Away at 1.5M... -

And to find instead something bigger (excluding Zalone) we need to reach 2002 when Natale sul Nilo and Pinocchio grossed an estimate of 34M and 33M euros -

Incredible recovery for Wish, after opening with just 1M euros it grossed 4M during it's second week and has now reached 5M! Good increase also for Aquaman but not as strong, after the 1M opening it made 2.5M and is now at 3.5M -

Incredible and unbelievable result, let's not forget it opened with just 1.6M euros and this mean it had x20 legs I'm happy that a film with such an important theme and with quality was seen by so many people (it will end with almost 5M tickets), because we really needed it -
Well for Italy we have Cinetel to check the daily, weekly and yearly box office but the data disappears after the end of the period Then I use mymovies when I want to quickly see how much a film has grossed in Italy but the it isn't always perfectly precise

ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' stronger than predecessor
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
Happy Christmas to everybody! My gift for you is many new flops: Wish opened with just 1M euros (less than Encanto), Aquaman with 1M too (much less than the first), Beyoncé with 200k (less than the already bad 700k of Taylor Swift), Migration is already out of the top 10 and Ferrari after its second week looks like it won't even reach 5M euros, let alone House of Gucci Wonka and C'è Ancora Domani instead are still going well -
ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' stronger than predecessor
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
C'è Ancora Domani (at 31.5M euros) has now surpassed the official gross of La Vita è Bella by Roberto Benigni, making it the 5th highest grossing Italian movie in the country right after 4 Checco Zalone movies Using instead the estimated gross C'è Ancora Domani isn't in the top 10 Italian movie, but excluding Zalone it's still the highest grossing since Pinocchio and Natale sul Nilo both in 2002 -

Wonka opened with 3M, the 2005 movie grossed 11M euros and I think this could pass it C'è Ancora Domani dropped by an harsh 60% due to the 3 new releases, and it has now reached 30.5M euros -
My god what a disastrous performance, a movie about Napoleon shouldn't end with just 50M more than Killers of the Flower Moon...

Damn that's huge news, I always say to my friends that if they made a "One Piece Kai" when the series end I would finally watch it, and now I'll have to keep the promise ; )- 23,660 replies

ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' stronger than predecessor
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
C'è Ancora Domani grossed 1.5M in its seventh weekend, on par with what it did on the opening one! The total is now 29.5M euros, and after outgrossing Super Mario, Spider Man, Oppenheimer and many others it should have enough to surpass the 32.1M of Barbie It will also pass Life Is Beautiful at 31.2M as the highest grossing Italian movie excluding Zalone, but as we know in those years the counting accuracy was pretty bad and the film in reality has grossed 47M euros -

MG10 replied to MG10's topic in International Box Office
Added Barbie, it should be at about 370M even if it could be a bit higher. Oppenheimer instead ended just short of the list at about 340M, exactly like Super Mario. Let's see if after winning several Oscar it will have some small re-releases -

Godzilla Minus One is in theaters just for one week, but it's also impossible to find 🥲 Not a single theater in the radius of 50km, and after seeing the incredible reviews it's a real pity
