  1. Also, even they are wrong, the wrong is a welcoming one if it overperformed
  2. Is Thursday late walk-ups having some spill over effect to Friday? Because I remember the Friday number was bad.
  3. Seem like hope for FG's breakout is quickly fading...
  4. Since either way they won't go cinema to see it, why bother to prioritize them? Just let them wait 45 days.
  5. Assuming 280k household would have attend cinema for TSS choose HBO max instead in the end, TSS "lose" at least 5.6m to HBO max assuming 2 people in each household. Of course this can go higher up to 10m if more potential turns up were lost.

  7. If FG surprised next week, TSS will find itself sandwiched by two overperformers. A bit like BoP when it faced both Sonic and BB4L.
  8. Which really isn't saying much. Dune doing 32m for opening is still a disaster I hope FG surprise so that we have another hit that evident the necessity of theatrical exclusive window.
  9. Still very funny to see the most successful DC films lately is a film with the least budget and absolute no connection to the current DCEU.
  10. Actually this is even lower than Conjuring 3 and MK if you factor in 4.1m preview which C3 and MK didn't have back then. Not to mention both of them have far lower budget.

  13. But 2016 summer has one of the most balanced mix of box office grosser in recent memory, you have multiple hit from different genre, unlike the years after.
  14. I think is too late to move Dune. But TSS really seal the celling for a HBO max release, WB's tentpole so far all open in the range of 25m-35m, regardless of what rating, reviews reception, genre or Covid-situation, So unless they "only" hope for 30-35m opening for Dune or Matrix 4 from the start, there is hardly any reasons to support the delay especially Dune
  15. Actually why no one consider to split the advertisement into two parts, one before the movie and another parts played during intermission. In my country, the ads run for 20min before the movie start, they can easily split them
  16. Regardless of how TSS open, pretty much it is up to what WB want to believe. They may seriously consider this as a sign that HBO max impact on their box office return OR they think is theater is dead and therefore HBO max is their future.....Nobody know what is in their mind.
  17. https://deadline.com/2021/08/the-suicide-squad-margot-robbie-james-gunn-opening-weekend-box-office-hbo-max-1234810359/ James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’ Seizes $4.1M On Thursday Night, Biggest For R-Rated Film During Pandemic
  18. 94% RT score from 184 reviews with 7.7/10, Audience score at 90% whereas all audience at 84% (Assume Synder's cult bring it down a bit)
