  1. I watched WW84 last year with another 3 friends of mine, the manager asked us if we are willing to wait til the next show which is 1 hours+ later and we said no. In the end it became private watch party.
  2. I'm so not used to seeing a japanese chart without DS in the mix.
  3. About $3m opening gross for AQP2 then, overall run should be at least $7-8m?
  4. what if they really sell nothing by the time when show start? do they just cancel the show?
  5. If Dune is going to Venice, then that will be more sensible for Dune to have October slot since the buzz will kick in just in time but the competition is just way too steep...
  6. So in actual, AQP2 still top Hitman 2 for wednesday number 1
  7. Weird to see that AQP2 jumped so high on Friday but suddenly turn muted on saturday. In the pre-pandemic world, this normally translate to another 40% saturday bump
  8. After spending decade mostly making sequel, finally we got to see Pixar making bunch of original film, only to be dumped elsewhere.
  9. We may have insufficient data to support the claim that HBO is hurting ITH but one thing for sure, HBO max didn't help or elevate the movie either.
  10. A QUIET PLACE PART II <img src="https://deadline.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/a-quiet-place-part-2-e1623592910462.jpg?w=296&amp;h=166&amp;crop=1" alt="" width="296" height="166" class="size-dl-article-body wp-image-1234774346" /> Paramount Crossing $100M domestically this weekend, Paramount’s sequel raised the volume to $184.8M globally. That’s following an offshore frame that generated $16M in 37 markets, including 21 new openings which means the Emily Blunt-starrer is now playing in 66% of the international footprint. The holdover markets dropped 54% and the film is running at 19% above A Quiet Place on a like-for-like basis. The global IMAX cume is $9.8M. Among new plays, Mexico debuted at No. 2 with $2.3M from 689 locations. The UAE was next best with $1.2M from 68 locations and landing No. 1. Hong Kong’s No. 1 opening made $885K from 54 locations. In holdover markets, the UK added $2.1M in the sophomore session, ranking No. 1 for a $9.3M cume to date. Russia has grossed $8.6M and Australia is at $7.7M. In China, the total has risen to $34.4M
  11. Is it only me to think that, the more unpopular, unknown 3D is now, the more it help Avatar 2? That accumulated novelty and curiosity may hype up again 3D version. The 3D is one of the aspect that people universally agree that avatar was great in. This could be a great asset for Avatar 2
  12. Lol, they should just shut the company down at once, the fastest way to sell everything
  13. Seem to be the case, and AQP2 have more father day appeal to other major holdovers
  14. Maybe PR2 just suffer bad talking animal fatigue. Back in 2016, people were obsessed with talking animal all year long, SLOP, FD, Zootopia, Sing, KP3....
  15. Why is BOM showing 80m overseas gross? Is there any major breakout that we miss? I think it is typo. BOM like to make mistake nowadays.
  16. This doesn't make sense, why would hbo max portion need to be disproportionately huge to evidence the impact? Those viewership, regardless how small they are, representing the potential audience or repeat viewing, even if only 20% turn out , still a cut from box office number or 20m if follow GvK number, that is quite a notable cut.
  17. Then what evidence or date we need to finally concede to the idea that HBO max hurt box office?
  18. Saturday bump have been very weak lately even by summer standard. I guess people just prefer doing outdoor activities in sunny day
  19. From GvK's struggling to top 100m to MK's collapse, and now ITH disappointment , I don't know how many pieces of evidence we need to showcase the impact of HBO max on box office. If HBO max is really that useless and impactless, why was WB even bother launching them in the first place?
  20. I know animation or family film tend to have small saturday bump during summer, but that is still a low number by any measure.
  21. For a movie that only open to <4m, ITH have too much showtime and screen. Unless the movie skewed toward saturday and sunday.
  22. No, aladdin have 35% week to week drop. Also, the weekdays trend seem off compared to pre-pandemic time or pre-summer. Tuesday gain is so much muted while Monday and wednesday drop are softer. The same tuesday in 2019 we saw every movies gain at least 40% in tuesday but this year that % is cut by more than half.
  23. I skim through Regal showtime, and I realise the cinema in CA and new york closed very early, their last conjuring 3 and AQP2 is before 9pm. Why do they close this early? My local theater have last show slightly pass 11pm even during weekdays.
