  1. After reading Deadline’s article they do say quite clearly it includes the Early Access so I’m inclined to believe them
  2. Only thing that pisses me off more than EA is EA that is not clearly reported/reported in mixed ways. I need to know for future comps does this $1.9M include all EA? Some? None??? Goddamit
  3. Minnesota Previews: The Garfield Movie (T-28): Day: T-28, T-24 Shows New Sold Seats % Sold Thursday: 23 theaters 84 10 10 10661 0.09 Sunday May 19 EA: 8 theaters 8 93 93 842 11.05 TOTALS: 92 103 103 11503 0.9 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 0 0 0 MTC1: 0 0 0 Alamo: 0 0 0 Other chains: 10 10 100 Was super busy Day 1 of release so I wasn't able to get to this, but this seems like it'll be like Trolls where EA syphons off all the early sales, so I'll for sure keep them separate here. Thursday Comps:* 0.15x Wonka: $520k 0.26x Wish: $460k 1.25x Trolls: $1.63 Million *Very low sales will lead to big variance in these early days. Trolls is the most useful comp due to similar EA situations. EA Comps: 0.6x Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes EA: ?? 0.91x Fall Guy EA: ?? 0.16x Dune Part 2 EA: $325k Again, Trolls EA will be the most useful here but the first comp for it will be at T-16. Gotta love EA
  4. Minnesota Previews: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (T-14): Day: T-14, T-13 Shows New Sold Seats % Sold Thursday: 25 theaters 98 17 169 17196 0.98 Wednesday May 8 EA: 19 theaters 23 36 228 5146 4.43 TOTALS: 121 53 397 22342 1.78 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 144 12 85.21 MTC1: 97 12 57.4 Alamo: 16 0 9.47 Other chains: 56 5 33.14 Comps (THU + EA combined): 1.4x The Fall Guy: ??? 1.17x Ghostbusters Frozen Empire: $5.5 Million (17 theaters) 1.48x Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: $6.68 Million (17 theaters) 0.46x FNAF: $4.78 Million (17 theaters) 0.41x MI7: $3.69 Million (17 theaters) Average: $5.16 Million This has been doing pretty consistently well, good to see!
  5. Minnesota Previews: The Fall Guy (T-7): Day: T-7, T-6 Shows New Sold Seats % Sold Thursday: 25 theaters 74 37 189 13546 1.4 Wednesday May 1 EA: 19 theaters 23 52 217 5129 4.23 TOTALS: 97 89 406 18675 2.17 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 152 29 80.42 MTC1: 127 24 67.2 Alamo: 18 0 9.52 Other chains: 44 13 23.28 Comps (combined EA + THU): Monkey Man: Missed 1.31x Civil War: $3.8 Million 0.53x Godzilla v. King: $5.29 Million (17 theaters) 0.87x Ghostbusters Frozen Empire: $4.1 Million (17 theaters) 0.72x Madame Web (OD): $4.37 Million (17 theaters) 1.12x Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: $5.04 Million (17 theaters) 0.56x TMNT (w/ EA): $3.06 Million (17 theaters) Average: $4.28 Million I for sure messed up my Aquaman comp last update, I'm not sure what I did exactly but that was just totally off. A variety of comps here but trying to go with the blockbusters that had better walk-ups/were less pre-sales heavy. Maybe will start separating EA and Thursday comps next update? Need some more expert voices to weigh in here, not sure what the most helpful way to approach this is since the EA is so broad Tarot (T-7): Day: T-7 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 21 theaters 55 6 12 5110 0.23 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 0 0 0 MTC1: 7 5 58.33 Alamo: 0 6 0 Other chains: 5 2 41.67 I'll add some comps at T-4 but still doing absolutely nothing
  6. Very curious to see what kind of tracking this is because I find it hard to believe
  7. Any basketball fans out here? These NBA playoffs have been pretty fun, but maybe that’s just because my Timberwolves are finally doing something 🥹🥹🥹
  8. I have noticed that about our samples as well! Definitely putting an asterisk on this track for future comps. Just for fun, some comps if I take out that theater from both sets: 0.44x Civil War: $1.28 Million 1x Monkey Man: $1.4 Million (with the theater: 0.82x = $1.14 Million) 0.41x Mean Girls: $1.07 Million So some improvements, but actually not as much as I expected. Strange! Might just be an outlier; I would def trust your numbers this time over mine
  9. Minnesota Previews: Unsung Hero (T-1): Day: T-1 Shows New Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 24 theaters 42 41 213 4081 5.22 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 0 0 0 MTC1: 60 7 28.17 Alamo: 0 0 0 Other chains: 153 34 71.83 Comps (Thursday only): 0.53x Cabrini: $265k (17 theaters) 0.25x Chosen S4 Eps 1-3: $355k 0.97x The Shift: $360k 0.69x After Death: $275k Average: $315k The EA completely messes up the pace and the comps here but maybe around $300-350k Thursday only, around 1 million Wednesday? My brain can't really comprehend how that's possible but the difference is astounding lmao
  10. Minnesota Previews: Challengers (T-1): Day: T-1 Shows New Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 25 theaters 88 105 332 14201 2.34 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 176 64 53.01 MTC1: 198 49 59.64 Alamo: 8 2 2.41 Other chains: 126 54 37.95 Thursday Comps: 0.4x Civil War (THU): $1.16 Million 2.54x Drive-Away Dolls: $890k (17 theaters) 0.4x Mean Girls: $1.05 Million (17 theaters) 1.72x Iron Claw: $1.15 Million (17 theaters) 1.42x Anyone But You: $1.7 Million (17 theaters) 0.82x Asteroid City: $900k (12 theaters) Average: $1.14 Million Good growth in the last few days, but still a ways from other markets it seems. Maybe it's the comps but I have always seen this play better with the cinephiles than with the general audience. Maybe I'm wrong though and this will be more like Anyone But You? I hope, but I'm going to go with my numbers here, thinking about the good pace, and go with $1.25 Million, +/- 0.2. With around $600k in previews I could see them round up and report 2 million total previews
  11. Minnesota Previews: Unsung Hero (T-2): Day: T-2, T-1 Shows New Sold Seats % Sold Thursday: 24 theaters 42 30 172 4081 4.21 Wednesday April 24 EA: 23 theaters 32 14 1147 3198 35.87 TOTALS: 74 44 1319 7279 18.12 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 2 0 1.16 MTC1: 53 2 30.81 Alamo: 0 0 0 Other chains: 119 28 69.19 Comps (Combined EA + THU): 3.44x Cabrini: $1.72 Million Chosen S4, Eps 1-3: Missed 6.06x The Shift (w/ EA): $2.26 Million 4.44x After Death: $1.78 Million Average: $1.92 Million
  12. I think I'll partially blame it on arguably the heaviest pre-sale theater in town only going on sale yesterday, so that hasn't caught up to the level of other films
  13. Minnesota Monday Early Access: Challengers (T-1 hour): Day: T-1 hour Shows New Sold Seats % Sold Monday April 22 EA: 18 theaters 18 70 346 4044 8.56 EA Comps: 0.3x Dune Part 2 EA: $605k 0.57x Mean Girls EA: $400k* 0.35x MI7 (T-3 EA): $695k *Using $700k estimate provided by Key a loooong time ago Probably go with around ~$600k for early shows but as always fair warning that EA is more dependent on number of showings so data provided by Key is probably most useful
  14. Everything has EA these days it seems, pretty annoying from a tracking perspective
  15. Minnesota Previews: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (T-18): Day: T-18, T-17 Shows New Sold Seats % Sold Thursday: 25 theaters 98 31 152 17196 0.88 Wednesday May 8 EA: 19 theaters 23 4 192 5146 3.73 TOTALS: 121 35 344 22342 1.54 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 132 22 86.84 MTC1: 85 14 55.92 Alamo: 16 0 10.53 Other chains: 51 17 33.55 Comps (THU + EA combined): 1.5x The Fall Guy: ??? 1.29x Ghostbusters Frozen Empire: $6.07 Million (17 theaters) 1.55x Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: $6.97 Million (17 theaters) 0.35x Oppy: $3.72 Million (17 theaters) MI7: Missed Some bad comps here but just keeping these here for now and they should converge as the release windows even out a bit

  19. Minnesota Previews: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (T-21): Day: T-21, T-20 Shows New Sold Seats % Sold Thursday: 25 theaters 98 23 121 17196 0.7 Wednesday May 8 EA: 19 theaters 23 33 188 5146 3.65 TOTALS: 121 56 309 22342 1.38 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 110 20 90.91 MTC1: 71 6 58.68 Alamo: 16 1 13.22 Other chains: 34 16 28.1 Comps (THU + EA combined): 1.44x The Fall Guy: ??? 0.32x Oppy: $3.37 Million (17 theaters) 0.44x MI7 (w/ EA): $3.94 Million (12 theaters) Keeps climbing, decent pace so far
  20. 21. Minnesota Previews: Challengers (T-7): Day: T-7, T-4 Shows New Sold Seats % Sold Thursday: 20 theaters 64 44 80 10596 0.76 Monday April 22 EA: 17 theaters 17 83 215 3773 5.7 TOTALS: 81 127 295 14369 2.05 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 57 30 71.25 MTC1: 65 39 81.25 Alamo: 4 0 5 Other chains: 11 5 13.75 Thursday Comps: 0.26x Civil War (THU): $750k 0.43x The Creator (THU): $580k (17 theaters) 0.58x Asteroid City: $640k (12 theaters) EA Comps: 1.78x Civil War EA: $580k 0.22x Dune Part 2 (T-3 EA): $435k 0.36x MI7 (T-3 EA): $720k THU + EA Comp: 0.62x Mean Girls: $2 Million Still not doing great here but with an important caveat that one of the two heaviest pre-sale theaters hasn't released showtimes for Thursday previews for some reason. Whenever it does I can see the pre-sale number bounce up artificially somewhat
  22. Minnesota Previews: Abigail (T-1 hour): Day: T-1 Hour Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 25 theaters 71 100 289 9517 3.04 Type of tix: Total: New: Percentage: PLFs: 78 34 26.99 MTC1: 131 33 45.33 Alamo: 44 13 15.22 Other chains: 114 54 39.45 Comps: 1.23x Last Voyage of the Demeter: $925k (17 theaters) 0.23x Insidious Red Door: $1.16 Million (17 theaters) Don't have many T-1 hour horror comps, decent final day but not really any signs of a huge late break-out (yesterday a chain had blocked off 10 seats that I assumed were tickets sold but I now know are not, so I amended that from yesterday. Also makes yesterday's update look a little worse than I had made it out to be). I'll just go with $1 Million, +/- 0.2
