  1. Twin Cities Thursday Night Previews: Wasn't able to check yesterday so "new" numbers will be for two days. The Woman King (T-1): Day: T-1 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 13 theaters 37 95 194 5855 3.31 Comps: Beast: 1.8x (1.66 M) Barbarian: 1.94x (1.65M) Weirdly point to around the same number, but I think something like The Woman King could under index in the Upper Midwest. I could see this reach 2 Million in previews based on other posts here. See How They Run (T-1): Day: T-1 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 13 theaters 26 18 30 2790 1.08 Comps: Three Thousand Years of Longing: 0.23x Is this gonna reach 1 Million for the weekend lol neither Variety or Deadline even mention it in their weekend preview, Disney is just burying this entirely wtf
  2. Twin Cities Thursday Previews: The Woman King: Day: T-3 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 11 theaters 28 22 99 4772 2.07 Comps: Beast: 1.94x (1.8M) I'll add Barbarian as a comparison tomorrow, not the best comps but they'll have to do. For what it's worth I don't think The Woman King will be very pre-sales heavy. See How They Run: Day: T-3 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 9 theaters 17 2 12 1547 0.78 Lmao, total Disney dump.
  3. Twin Cities Thursday Previews Report: Barbarian (T-1): Day: T-1 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 13 theaters 19 27 100 2087 4.79 Comps: The Invitation: 1.4x (1.09 M) Beast: 0.93 (860k) Okay jump, previews around 900k-1M would make sense.
  4. Twin Cities Report is back! Sorry for the hiatus, things at the job have been picking up (as a teacher, I will miss summer), but I had some time today and looked into: Barbarian (T-2): Day: T-2 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 12 theaters 12 73 73 1781 4.1 Comps: The Invitation: 2.7x ($2.1 M) Beast: 0.94x ($870k) The Invitation did especially poorly in the Twin Cities area, so that comparison isn't great in my opinion. I think on par with Beast makes sense for an opening. Will check in tomorrow.
  5. Fucking hell, life got in the way today and I wasn't able to get to the numbers before previews started. No T-0 numbers from the Twin Cities tonight, sorry y'all What are y'all tracking next besides the re-releases? Is Honk for Jesus the only wide release coming out next weekend? Yikes
  6. Twin Cities Thursday Previews Report: Three Thousand Years of Longing: Day: T-1 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 12 theaters 25 24 130 2986 4.35 Comp: 1.2x Beast: $1.11M The Invitation (T-1): Day: T-1 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 14 theaters 37 44 71 4755 1.49 Comp: 0.66x Beast: $610k Finally a good day for The Invitation, I see no reason for this to be pre-sales heavy but it's still a nice jump. Still don't see this crack $10 M from my numbers, but I think this will underindex in the Midwest anyway. For Three Thousand Years, meh pace.
  7. DC League of Superpets with a great hold, what are we thinking for where it ends up domestically?
  8. Twin Cities Thursday Previews Report: Three Thousand Years of Longing (T-2): Day: T-2 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 11 theaters 23 25 106 2881 3.68 Comp: 1.37x Beast: $1.27 M Lost a bit of ground to Beast, but it's still selling decently here (compared to my very meager expectations). The Invitation (T-2): Day: T-2 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 11 theaters 27 1 27 3512 0.77 Comp: 0.35x Beast: $320k Doing horribly in Minnesota so far.
  9. Twin Cities Thursday Previews Report: Three Thousand Years of Longing (T-3): Day: T-3 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 9 theaters 19 23 81 2626 3.08 Comp: 1.59x Beast: $1.47 M The Invitation (T-3): Day: T-3 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 9 theaters 22 20 26 3133 0.83 Comp: 0.51x Beast: $470k Beast isn't a good comp, but it's all I have. Three Thousand Years continues to surprise me as it has more sales than I would expect, but it'll probably be pre-sales heavy, as fans of Miller will go to watch it while not appealing to the general audience. The Invitation is looking rough, think it'll be closer to $5M than to $10M
  10. For next week: Three Thousand Years of Longing (T-7): Day: T-8 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 8 theaters 17 -3 58 2443 2.37 The Invitation (T-7): Day: T-7 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 9 theaters 22 6 6 3218 0.19 Going to be gone in the weekend, will check these again on Monday.
  11. Wooooo my first T-0 day! Exciting stuff (kinda not really with these releases, but oh well) Twin Cities Thursday Previews Report: Dragon Ball (T-0): Day: T-0 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 14 theaters 57 190 867 7291 11.89 Growth Rate: 1-Day: 28.06 3-Day: 81.76 Very nice last day, don't have any comps but looking at other users' numbers it will for sure cross 10 million for the weekend. Beast (T-0): Day: T-0 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 14 theaters 33 19 127 4220 3.01 Growth Rate: 1-Day: 17.59 3-Day: 149.02 Good numbers in the last week percentage-wise, but the starting number is so low I'm not sure it matters. We'll see how this one does.
  12. Tuesday jumps are truly back, everything around 40/50% so far. Anecdotally, saw Nope yesterday at a 6pm $5 session and it was around 75% full. Movie itself was so good, can't stop thinking about it
  13. What's The Invitation's long range forecast looking like? Is it worth tracking? Could set up something tomorrow
  14. Twin Cities Thursday Previews Report: Dragon Ball (T-1): Day: T-1 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 14 theaters 55 74 677 7186 9.42 Beast (T-1): Day: T-1 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 14 theaters 33 30 108 4220 2.56 Three Thousand Years of Longing (T-8): Day: T-8 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 8 theaters 17 34 61 2443 2.5 Comp: Didn't track Beast at T-8.
  15. Twin Cities Thursday Previews Report: Dragon Ball (T-2): Day: T-2 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 14 theaters 48 126 603 7242 8.33 Beast (T-2): Day: T-2 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 12 theaters 27 27 78 4035 1.93 Three Thousand Years of Longing (T-9): Day: T-10 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 4 theaters 9 2 27 1822 1.48 The drop in tickets for Three Thousand Years isn't real, I just messed up the count yesterday because I'm stupid. Beast Comp: 1.8x
  16. Twin Cities Thursday Previews Report: Dragon Ball (T-3): Day: T-3 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 14 theaters 45 54 477 6387 7.47 Beast (T-3): Day: T-3 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 12 theaters 27 8 51 3620 1.41 Also just started tracking Three Thousand Years of Longing, probably will flop but I owe this to George Miller after the Mad Max movies. T-10 days: Day: T-10 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold Totals: 3 theaters 7 36 36 1002 3.59 My only comp is Beast, not a good one at all, but they both have Idris Elba I guess: 2.4x Beast (with way less theaters and screens, worth mentioning)
  17. Just caught up with this yesterday, it was fine not great. Surprisingly, my theater was half full for it. Revisiting this almost a month after release, can we call this a success? 4x legs at this point, will probably reach $150 million when it gets released in most international markets. Budget is only $24 million too
  18. Twin Cities Thursday Previews Report: Dragon Ball (T-5): Day: T-5 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold 14 theaters 45 11 423 6387 6.62 Beast (T-5): Day: T-5 Shows New Seats Sold Seats % Sold 12 theaters 27 20 43 3620 1.19 One of the AMCs for Dragon Ball inexplicably dropped two shows (thought I had made a mistake, but I triple checked and it definitely happened), which resulted in a drop of almost 60 tickets for that theater. Don't know what happened there, but it completely skewed the numbers, the "new seats" number should be way higher. Other than that, Beast almost doubled the seats sold in the last two days, but it's still such a small number we'll see if that trend continues.
  19. Crawdads increased from Monday, and Elvis barely dropped anything... this will be a close one fellas
  20. Twin Cities Area: Dragon Ball (T-7): Beast (T-7): Added growth rates to the spreadsheet, which will come in more handy on the final days of releases (as well as more pre-sales heavy releases, trying to experiment with these weaker August releases). Also thinking of just posting the totals here to declutter a bit, so y'all don't have to read through all the individual theater info.
  21. DC League of Superpets, noon session on a Wednesday, just me and then a mom and a kid. Trailers: Shazam: Fury of the Gods (no reaction) Dragon Ball Super Hero (kid said "I don't like anime. Anime is Japanese") Strange World (no reaction) Lyle Lyle Crocodile (kid said "I want to see that") Kid had a good time, laughed at a few of the jokes. I laughed at quite a few of the more adult jokes, an enjoyable watch for sure.
  22. Twin Cities Area Report: Added some more theaters per Charlie's suggestion, it definitely made the numbers more helfpul Dragon Ball (T-10): In line with @katnisscinnaplex numbers, many of these shows are IMAX which will add to per-theater average. Also set up Beast's tracking (T-10): Mann and Showplace haven't added showtimes yet. A few Dolby screens but mostly regular showings. Not really a reason for this movie to have strong pre-sales, but we'll see how this progresses.
