It’s going to be a multi film contract, likely 3 F4 films, 2 Avenger films (if the slate doesn’t change) and cameos. Anyway am all for this if true. Totally detest fan casting shenanigans so I just don’t care about a mostly TV actor not getting the job cause he kind looks how a character was drawn in the 60s.

The Night of the Doctor is sitting with 6M views on YouTube alone, defoes something they can build on and frankly Paul is just an amazing Doctor. Still quite cynical about all these spin off ideas. But am all for more DW. -

That’s what I like about the tone though. She feels like a proper random with her own life thrown into something. It’s a basic premise but still works.

Two points on this. It is low budget. Second point; after The Marvels I bet Sony want to hide all the universe stuff as much as possible.

Yeah it’s a bit TV. Live but fuck it I think that’s kind of where film is now. This looks good to me and a strong lead performance. Right tone for its target market as well.

Sony going ahead with this now I think is just a cash flow issue. Not sure they expect profit.

The problem now is there’s no real point speculating what they could have done. The brand has been burnt to the ground.

“But they’ve been doing press…” I think the problem now is MCU is so large that everyone is aware now this movie is a bomb and also rated poorly. Its going to dissolve in negativity.

Honestly considering all the stings totally thrown away by Disney at this point am not sure that’s 100%. He does return home but that doesn’t mean the actor is currently signed up for anything even if they used the end title.

Am really not sure. It’s setup that they could all be back, a few or none. That ending was setting it up that any the actors could come back. Issue is around getting them signed up.

Am not saying the TV show is the pull just that clearly the MCU still has a few faves it can still rely on.

I really didn’t understand why people say the drop from series 1 to 2 for Loki as some disaster. Made perfect sense in the context of an early D+ MCU show and todays context. High quality and an extremely good cast. Shows like this is what D+ content should be focusing around and hopefully the move to show runners helps reflects this as Loki has always had a very clear direction. Loki will legit be a pull for whatever film he is in next.

Exactly. So many people have been raising concerns for a while but it just gets ignored by the studio. People voting with their bums this time.

My issue with the interview comments is they are no longer restricted. So why wouldn’t those bums turn up on seats next weekend? Which I don’t hear anyone expecting.

I posted about this the other day, but the issue is that all the male hero films nearly all have romantic elements (some very strong) but when it’s female led Marvel seem to wring their hands around it. What does it leave for the audience to connect with?

Its either a Disney + show of a sub 100M budget film. The demos don't support either though imo.

I don't think anyone doesn't think Marvel can have an up curve out of a trough. The issue is how they do that whilst continuing with the MCU in its current form. Doctor Who just regenerates, Star Trek did this too as did Batman. How do you reboot a universe whilst maintaining the universe?

Suspect some of this will be changing. What Gunn has been clever at I think is focusing on Superman and not being distracted by everything else.
