Yeah true and as the Fall Guy has just proved an early review embargo drop does not move the needle really at all.

Love the great early reactions but yeah why is the review embargo being held till Wednesday. I hope this is not a control the narrative type thing where the easy lays are over hyping it.

One area reports positive trend for the Fall Guy the next is much more negative. Maybe it is best to just wait till morning and see where it lands.

Yeah for the Marvels not for Brave New World except for the around in circles argument about the future of the MCU.

Two and a half pages over the last hour for a movie that does not come out for 9 months and there is no breaking news about it. It must be a MCU thread.

Back to the actual movie. If WOM does not help this movie at least somewhat than it was never going to break out with the GA and they were never going to care. It has everything going for it so if they still don't come off the fence then that's the way it goes I guess.

Yep. Most regular people who see the movie are going to either just blow right past and never notice it or go ooh that's tasteless and crass and then forget about it. But there will be that loud minority who make a stink. That's the world in 2024.

That seems to be the prevailing opinion for most people who see it. Fingers crossed that can translate to WOM and legs.

And I would agree with that if this were being released on some random weekend in Jan or Feb or whenever. They timed this for a reason. But looking at Friday's sales going down Saturday would have to really explode to hit the 25 so I will lower the range to 13-20 or something.

I honestly am scratching my head and surprised that so many are getting so defensive and defending it. I feel like if this movie looked the same and it was Favreau returning or just some hack they could hire and control rather than Jenkins we would not be seeing that.

It's crazy we are talking about a 25 year old movie with a divisive reputation to save the first weekend of May or at least make it less terrible looking. But here we are. My Top 5 for the weekend with ranges- 1) The Fall Guy 25-32 if WOM powered walkups power it least a little bit 2)TPM 18-25 mostly with saturday being the big day duh.3)Tarot 8-12 the same range as every other original horror this year so far 4)Challengers 7-9.5 yesterday and today;s numbers will tell the tale for how well that can hold and 5)GXK 4.5-6.0 depending on if TPM and even The Fall Guy hurt it a little.

Same thing I was thinking. Unless they are talking ATP rather than money made.

This might be a walkup heavy movie? Why has nobody said that was a possibility..... Having said that it could just be that area. At least a positive sign. I will take it.

I honestly can't figure you out. You go from thinking the movie will underperform due to Marvel Fatigue then the new trailer came out and you were excited and hyped as anybody now you are back on the negative it does not look that good thing.

Well bioth show how nobody can remember anything anymore hat did not happen in the the previous seven days or something.

And my guess is nobody really cares or remembers that and certainly not why the movie is struggling to break out.

Yeah the pre sales for the previews are terrible. Not arguing that. I just mean the whole this movie is doomed because of that we can not say for sure. This movie may very well appeal to a audience that does not feel the need to go to Wed or Thursday night shows and can wait until Friday through Sunday and if WOM is good it will get good walkups. Honestly trying to stay positive. I will deal with the negative if and when it happens.

I think we may be putting too much emphasis on Presales for Previews for this. Or maybe not.

The Fall Guy is not going to make less than It Ends with us and Furiosa is not opening and doing better than BB:ROD.
