    I give up if this gets mixed WOM because there is not enough action when it sounds like there is plenty but short attention spanned peabrains thinks it is slow because it is not the type of action that they think they want.

    Yeah. Something I have to agree with Maggie on is that Paramount's marketing and release decisions on this have been a little head scratching. And if the rumors are true Cruise has not been happy either. I really hope WOM is fire and it can get past that and dig in there and survive the buzzsaw coming. People can see multiple movies I keep saying.

    If this was a new franchise getting those reviews I would say it had a great chance but the this franchise has a ceiling with its dedicated audience and getting newbies on board in substantial numbers is probably a lot to ask at this point.

    I was gonna say Indy should hold the #2 spot next weekend assuming Red door drops 70% or something but Indy is going to get hit hard from Mission which could give SOF the edge for #2. Gonna be interesting.

    I hear you. I love the Batman. it is my #1 movie of 2022 and I am not sure what Reeves can come up with for the sequel.

    Which is why even if DR part 1 underperforms somewhat Part 2 should explode next year.

    Good WOM is a never a bad thing. This should be no lower than 115 mill when Barbenheimer hits. Assume no lower than 30 that weekend 145. It should be able to do another 75 mill from then on to at least hit Fallouts 220. Who knows though. People are either interested or not to go to the theater. Barbenheimer should not be an excuse for why they did not go.

    well no Maggie normally the grief process does not start until the body is cold. it still could go either way If there is any franchise that will deliver strong walkups it is this. I would like to believe the Core audience does not just sit on their ass at home waiting for it to be on P+. Yeah i know Barbenheimer. They can see multiple movies.

    It bears repeating that RN had a weekend IM previews of 13 and Fallout 10. The tuesday opening for this screws that up though. I really have a hard time believing that the target audience will not come through and this does not hit 90 million by this time next week. If not then it is what it is I guess.

    One thing that can be said now matter how DR Part 1 does is that Part 2 will be in a much better position next year. Assuming the labor strife is settled no later than early september or so and it comes out on June 28th as scheduled. Much less competition and DR part wom will only help it.

    Yeah I don't why we have to keep going over this. Thinking that this movie is going have previews like a CMB or something on a Tuesday when the target audience is you know working, is just dumb. It is 163 minutes long. I am frothing at the bit to see this movie but I am not seeing it until saturday. Also the 7th movie in a franchise no matter how well received is not just going to blow up all of a sudden.

    People are setting up for major meltdowns if Barbie does 110. oppenheimer does 45 and Mission does 35 and that aint good enough. But that would never happen around here would it.

    Just want to remind everybody that there is a movie coming out this week that is at 99% at RT. That movie will still be playing on July 21. Just saying.

    I think it would have been to much of a stretch to for him to be doing the crazy risky stuff he does and Julia is at home a ok with it. Unless they did what the True Lies sequel we never got would have.

    I think WOM will gain steam and 100 million is a strong possibility or it hit's the Mission wall and WOM only gets it so far. Will be fun and nerve wracking to watch.

    My worry is the quality of the action. Shawn Levy aint exactly David Leitch in that department. Although on IMBD George Cottle is listed as Stunt Coordinator/2nd unit. He is Nolan's guy and he did the MCU Spiderman trilogy.

    Exactly. Have come to acceptance this is a huge bomb. Does not ruin my enjoyment of the film one bit. A 50-55 drop is pretty good. Could have been much worse. Although coming down from that 8.8 estimate yesterday is a disappointment.
