  1. Still don't understand why these 2 are coming out so close. I don't wanna hear when The Wild Robot flops or even both. Just idiotic.
  2. I still don't understand who's distributing these movies. Is it Lionsgate or Roadside?
  3. Yeah Avatar 2 is just some of the biggest nonsense. It's extremely difficult to follow up such a zeitgeist type of movie and we're talking one of the biggest there is. Avatar 2 wasn't THE perfect run but disappointing? I don't even wanna hear such dilusion.
  4. Hoping for 20M for Challengers and 40M for The Fall Guy. I could live with a 30s opening but I think 40M would really be the definitive win.
  5. I didn't even realize these Guy Ritchie movies barely made money. This was the 2nd highest Opening of his R rated movies after The Gentleman. Wrath of Man - 8.3M The Covenant - 6.4M Ruse de Guerre - 3.1M
  6. Yeah. But it seems they wanted to go live-action? Even then, Universal is still much better. What gives me hope is that the folks over at Nintendo will be involved. Because Sony is probably the worst studio out there. They know how to control their budgets but they just make the most basic shit with their IPs. If it was AI generated, you would believe it. Always same formula: Big lead actors + cheap budget + AI generated screenplay = the most generic project that at best CAN be passable because of the lead charisma but I'm not falling for that. And sometimes it just doesn't work.
  7. That Shrek 5 is so inevitable. Thank God for DreamWorks. They really needed Kung Fu Panda 4. What a huge hit. Will eventually cross 500M on a 85M budget. That's like almost 6x its budget. 85 × 6 = 510M. The trucks of money Shrek 5 will do is no joke.
  8. Yeah I've said this already. Times have changed. Audiences look for different experiences in theaters with streaming existence. You can't churn out these action movies that look the same, not promote them and expect audiences to appear. And this is not necessarily a bad thing. Studios need to reinvent and that's exciting. Or they will just have to put the effort from beginning to end. These movies need to be reinvented. Or just keep them in streaming. You won't get a Beekeeper if you don't put the effort on the concept already. While Statham is a draw, I think there was something to the Beekeeper aspect of it. The way it was marketed. Some cool shots. There's really no way to quantify tho. If its only Statham, and you want to make these to theaters, cast wide appealing actors. Obviously no one here sell alone. Get Brad Pitt. Maybe Tom Hardy. Maybe Chris Pratt. Maybe Sandra Bullock. Obviously, Statham. Alan Ritchson. I just can't help but feel that audiences are obviously changing but Studios are not following. These Guy Ritchie movies feel very old school. Too much.
  9. Yeah. We'll be in 2027 in a couple of weak weekends and we will hear this melodrama again. Crying about Abigail opening to 10M-12M seems pointless. Or any movie studios put the bare minimum behind. Audiences like it so maybe it legs out, maybe it doesn't. Freaking Lionsgate can't promote movies that don't promote for themselves. They sold the international rights to streaming already in most markets. I mean...please. I actually feel really good about theatrical going forward from May on, 2025, 2026... Honestly my biggest worries with theaters is another pandemic, War or another big strike.
  10. Disappointing but it would depend on legs and Overseas numbers. But I definitely would expect you to be making the most hyperbolic statements if it happened.
  11. Can any of the lovely people on this forum link those liveblogs to follow please?
  12. Dude. We get it. Also since when has an R rated movie opened to 200M? May 2022 was never peak MCU. It was just the perfect storm for this movie.
