Well, that is very good since it is the first weekend THG actuals have gone up from estimates.

If THG estimates hold that will be about 2-3 million more than I thought it would do. Very happy! -
Don't get too bitter Baumer, it's not good for your health. :PTitanic will do just fine. If you have to learn to tolerate THG in order to enjoy life, well then that is what I'd advise you to do.

It is kind of sad that the movie that was #1 for so many years, only opens to #3 on its first weekend of re-release...

Very nice! I'm sure most people are waiting until Friday. Some of you should wait until the weekend before declaring whether the opening is disappointing.

Not a bad number at all. I'm sure the tournament significantly dampened the number. I'm expecting a 20%-25% increase today. -

My guess is that THG Saturday increase was a little softer than last week because of the basketball tournaments going on. A lot of people watch the final four games. -
So will the Final Four games for the NCAA Championship affect the Saturday number at all?

It could have been a lot worse though... I think an extended addition for this would really help though. They needed a few more "character development" scenes between Rue and Katniss and Peeta and Katniss. If they could include those, and get some image-stabalization software, the film would be near perfect.

Maybe because relative to its huge opening, its run has been quite average.

Outside of some hardcore fans opening weekend, everyone I know that has seen the film either likes it or loves it. It still has 4 1/2 stars on yahoo.com, so its being received well. It looks like it will have a rather steep drop this weekend due to the huge opening it experienced, but after this week I expect things to settle down quite a bit, and the WOM will kick in, and give it some decent legs.

ddddeeee, I got goosebumps too. Honestly, I don't think that has ever happened to me in a theater. That was one of the best scenes for me.

I'm glad I didn't see the 24M number before I saw the 18.5M number. THAT would have been heartbreaking.
