  1. WB seems to bet the whole farm on this one. You can regard this as a long term investment, show off reel for MOS 2...
  2. I think with 4th of July weekend it can move past $300 million. But WHD may steal some of its audience, and LONE RANGER is definitely not helping either...Then comes Warner's own PAC RIM. Here, WB would give up MOS screens to PR. Phew, Supe has to handle more than just General Zod
  3. That is the problem. MoS2 may need to get the family votes. Some audience feedbacked that the movie has too much property destruction in it, lol. I thought it is bad-ass but I can see how some families are complaining about its "senseless violence."
  4. GIJ2 is bland. Those CGI ninjas are just ridiculous. I prefer No.1 with its ultra-cheesy depiction of Goldfigner-type of villainy and no-holds barred underwater battle scene.
  5. I think WWZ will have a massive 2nd weekend drop. Esply with WHD opening. The action is intense and novel but the movie is lacking in any serious substance.
  6. There is no doubt you gotta see the new zombie swarming technique, lol, it is a riot (pun). I think people come to see something they never see before. But that's the only one or two interesting things about the movie. And the finale is suspenseful enough but a letdown. The solution to a zombie apocalypse
  7. I always knew that WWZ would open big. Those trailers are just insane! But They should have stuck to R and people would still come. The Jerusalem scene is an impressive spectacle. And the cure, I don't know, folks,
  8. I just saw MoS again today. I think it is a very well done superhero movie. I was the only complaining that SR has too much romance and not enough action but here, while you do appreciate the action, there is almost too much of it. And the amount of concrete structures being decimated seem a bit disturbing to some audience who is expecting Supe to do more saving than destroying....This could be the reason for the drop. Some cuts are jarring, especially And some moustache-twirling lines are generic especially spoken by the villains who sound like they are re-building the Nazi army. But overall, outside BB/TDK/R/IM1 movies, this is a very well toned production, audience seems touched by the dramatic strain in the movie especially those scenes involving Clark's parents. I wish the rivalry between Kal & Zod is built earlier, with more scenes in reference to the fact that Zod & his armies may be villains but they are also the Last of the Kryptonites, Clark's own ethnic group. I don't know if the audience understands this, but at the end of the movie,
  9. Some say the movie has a rather critical look at overpopulation.... You figure out the rest. I saw WWZ a few hrs ago. It has many intense, epic action scenes but the movie slows down to a crawl near the end when they should reserve the best action for the finale. The Jerusalem scene is massive, intense. I wish this is rated R because the movie is too safe to be scary, too scary for safe audience. It will open huge but would drop like PROMETHEUS. The implication of the movie,
  10. IM3 craps all over the superhero genre when they . It has a lousy villain played by way-too-metro Guy Pearce, action scenes lacking in creativity, uneven tone, sentimental kid sub-plot, wasted an actress named Rebecca. RDJ is excellent but cannot save the movie. I am shocked and dismayed it made $400 million domestic. MOS is a bad-ass, through-n-through superhero movie, pure & simple.
  11. WWZ has a lot of epic, intense action. The scene in Jerusalem is...wow. But the rest of it is kinda ..there. They make a mistake of having a rather bland (although very suspenseful) ending.
  12. Yea but WWZ would steal some of its thunder. WWZ very likely to drop off rather quickly but its opening would hit on MoS gross substantially.
  13. As long as the 3 movies are doing more than $50 million a piece, I am happy As you are...
  14. MEXICO: 'Man Of Steel' Opens Big With $9.6M Weekend
  15. "Hulk Smash/Puny God" is fun but you gotta admit you hate yourself for liking that scene
  16. Yea but MoS is too serious. People like to get a few jokes in there. RDJ is an asset in this area. But the drama would compensate for that. Kevin Costner scene is very moving. What a dad.
  17. Superheroes movies tend to do well in SK generally especially those with big action set pieces TF2 $43 million, TF3 $69 million, TA $50 million, TDKR $42 million then again: XMEN3 $12 million, XMFC $18 million, first 2 IM did less than $30 million And GREEN LANTERN did an abysmal $1.8 million (my info is from Mojo so I could be wrong on GL).
  18. All actors who have played Superman on the big or small screen have certain wooden-ness to them. Think about it. Reeves, Routh, Cain. They all have that nice-guy boy-scout demeanor to them. Supe is a guy who try to please everybody, trying to fit in, and at the same time to conceal. He wants to blend in, not stick out like a sore thumb.
