  1. I would rate TRADING PLACES as one of the greatest must see comedies of all time. I almost forgot about that one. Absolute classic! For Cary Grant (HIS GIRL FRIDAY), I think NORTH BY NORTHWEST is his best That movie contains the goofy Cary, the suave Cary, the bewildered, it's like the Greatest Hit of Cary Grant in a single movie. Where is our modern day Cary Grant? Re: GIRL FRIDAY I need a subtitle to watch that movie. It's like they are speaking in different tongue.
  2. Inching closer to TASM and beyond But unless WB maintains screens (which they will not due to PR), MoS may end up below $300M
  3. I would probably like RED2 better than GIJOE2 The well-known Korean actor is in both of them. RED2 is tongue-in-cheek, GIJ2 takes itself too seriously.
  4. Time to hibernate until grown up movies are out: GRAVITY THE COUNSEL-LOR WOLVES OF WALL STREET
  5. The dates are very competitive but Pixar always sits on that June 20th slot for years since....who knows when. The rest of the studios are like: "Bring it on!!"
  6. If this prediction comes true, no $100+ 3-day OW for Universal after all these years...
  7. MOS would do $15M thereabouts which is low for a heavily marketed action movie. Is more warmly welcome in France.
  8. Korea, HK, Taiwan & especially China dislike animation. Japanese only like their animation which regularly make massive business. Have you seen Miyazaki animations like PRINCESS MONONOKE & SPIRITED AWAY? Those titles are like the AVATAR of Japanese cinema.
  9. I am a fan of the movie, that doesn't mean I cannot make an objective assessment of its box office performance.
  10. With shockingly poor performances in key territories like Russia & Germany, disappointing results in Mexico (where superheroes movies are traditionally huge sellers), very good-but-coulda-been-better results in China, I say $400M is too generous. You can see 70% drops all over the territories, families are switching to lighter fares like MU & DM2. The lighter Spider-Man movies are better performers overseas. Having said that, I hope WB & Snyder & team do not water down MoS2 for a wider audience. I like the darker tone of this Superman.
  11. But Disney is a master at Home Video business. They will muster a profit somehow. Don't forget those ancillary biz...very lucrative
  12. It is not Tatum. It is Jamie whom the audience dislike. He seems to be a bit of a do*che in those talk shows
  13. I made the same implication in my post
  14. CAP AMERICA did $4.8M in Germany, $8.6M in Russia THOR on the other hand did better but not by much $16M in both countries Same year, same Marvel team. Must be Hemsworth's golden locks Source: mojo
