  1. Accept that it did 3m without wed previews. Something that AOU didn't match and still made 15.7m for the weekend. Yes Anzac Day fell during the weekend. still even with 3m with school in, I'm thinking 15m +. Sat/sun will easily be its biggest days.

  6. I would say the OW would above 17m in that scenario. I'm also thinking the US OW would be above 200m. But yes u are correct. 185m is locked in that case.
  7. If that holds fantastic start when u consider school is in... if the OD pushes towards 4m then 16m + is on the cards. Dont forget business will be strongest sat / sun.
  8. Since no one else moving on it..... 60% X-Men Apocalypse
  9. Awesome. So can't wait. Also chermside is down to 3 sessions a day from Thursday. Can't say I'm surprised given its performance.
  10. I posted the above a page back about that figure. and those are the figures taken from the official Screen Australia website. As far as I understand it, it's correct and crazy as it seems. but as i noted, if you consider the fact Australian admissions back in 40's and 50's was hovering well above 100m admissions a year (something we are yet to return to since the theatre heydays). Then consider that GWTW was released in 1938 and led many of the years noted... 38m admissions suddenly doesn't seem so massive. Once again much of this is estimated from various data sources over that time.
  11. Estimated Admissions .. yes Avatar needed to make it to 120m AUD at the time to pass Titanics Admissions. All time Admissions Top 10 are: (Estimated admissions are after and include any re-issues, 3D, or special editions) 1. Gone with the Wind (38.9m) 2. Crocodile Dundee (9.0m) 3. Titanic (8.3m) 4. Avatar (7.5m) 5. Star Wars (A New Hope) (6.8m) 6. E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (6.7m) 7. The Sound of Music (6.2m) 8. Star Wars: The Force Awakens (6m) 9. Grease (5.5m) 10. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (5.2m)
  12. Weekend Results 22nd - 24th April 2016 : Wrath 3-peats as we wait for the Civil War to begin.... Not suprisingly, not a position changed from last weekend. With only 1 film invested in releasing this weekend and it essentially not going truly wide in the end, resulted in the game Box Office dipping across the board by 40% (give or take a few). @Wrath remained on top with a another strong showing of 84m. 2nd spot was @The Panda Knight with 64m also down 40%. I remained in 3rd ( @JJ-8) also down 40%. 4th was @DAJK and @BourneFan #1 in 5th. Next weekend could see a couple of small changes thanks to the release of Keanu (the only film invested in for the coming weekend), but Wrath is expected to easily hold onto the top spot for the 4th weekend in a row (and 9th in total this year) thanks to the fact he has the largest investment in Keanu. That weekend will be his last weekend on top for sometime due investment restrictions which are now in full swing (he is the only player who is currently restricted with @lucasbenica, @CJohn and @grey ghost all coming off restrictions as of last Friday.) 19. April has turned out to be an interesting month with The Jungle Book breaking out, but the best return by the looks it belongs to the Boss. Elvis & Nixon was slightly less wide than anticipated making it unlikely to recover the 10m budget we had the in the game. 1 Weekend remains with only 2 "Wide" releases with investments available. Both are mixed investments thought with both likely to make at most a very small profit and more likely will lose out. Release Schedule Red Highlight is fully invested and no longer available unless a player decides to sell part of or all their portion.
