  5. Barbershop The Next Cut budget is 20m. http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2016/04/16/friday-box-office-jungle-book-earns-huge-32-4m-for-85m-90m-weekend/#3e0d86ad540e
  6. Can't accept either (as per out discussion above) ... so yeah
  7. Fantastic result for the The Jungle Book. As noted already, TJB should easily pass 20m and target 30m at this point. The Boss seems a little underwhelming but i guess it's ok. Allegiant about expected.. i'm disappointed but that's just me.... Zootopia should wind around 26m at this point... BVS continues it's epic week in week out slides... unless something dramatically changes, BVS will likely wind up just short of 30m which will make the largest opening to not pass 30m. Assuming this happens, it will join 4 other films as 1 of 5 films that did not pass 30m after opening above 10m.
  8. Which in turn means more movie % is available to everyone else... I believe the rule works. Don't forget u will getting lots of $ from the investments. The rule drives smart investments. Not the old lets invest in everything.....
  9. Deadpool will be under 600 as of next week if say anyway for example. And I think that will be extreme. Dont forget this replaced the hard rule of 1500% which I think you would have passed already
  10. the intention of the rules is once a movie is released the money is spent, so u get all grosses. You can't on sell or cancel a release once it's released. That was always the intention. if we allowed such a thing it would be like studios are ripping a movie out of cinemas early. And defeats the purpose of the active rule. It's intended to slow investment down. Yes u can choose as both yourself and Lucas and go way over. But now your over u have to wait. Deadpool will start drop screens more and more. Tbh this makes the game strategic. Timing your investments well. Most films will dip under 600 in 4-6 weeks. Deadpool zootopia are the exceptions.
  11. Righto. Huntsmans budget is being revised to 115m. Probably doesn't help for game since I doubt it makes 100m at this point. TJB final budget is 175m not ot surprised on either.
  12. How r u dissappointed? It was the best hold in the top 15 by far. (All but 3 films dropped > 50%). In fact the 16th film expanded. I think in general holdovers dropped horribly this week. In context zootopia did great.
  13. wow. That is just massive. Did not see a 100m weekend. 80m yes. But 100m?? So my projections for pre-summer releases. 1. Deadpool 365m 2. zootopia 330m 3. The Jungle book 330m 4. BVS 325m whod a think it... 4 films > 300m.....
  14. My #1 film and the more i look i believe it's correct (It's hard to find exact data to whether it led that day though) Star Wars I believe was the #1 film the day i was born ... well frankly it was the day it was released and i believe it made around 250k. Another film called "The Car" was the #1 film the weekend prior (at least the info i can find points to this and was already on it's 2nd weekend and made about 2.2m for the weekend so i think it might be under 250k when star wars opened) and Smokey and the Bandit took #1 the following weekend but it opened on the 27th, so i stand by the fact that Star Wars led the box office in the US when i was born. As a venerable 6 Year old just over 6 years later I would be lining up with my parents to see return of the jedi on the big screen (it was actually the first film my parents ever took me to see in a cinema - and yes this was something i still remember from my childhood). I saw a movie that I will love to this day (as a kid those ewoks were just so cool )... I guess you can say the rest is history as far I was concerned... saw the other films eventually and have the films on VHS, rebought on DVD and then finally on blueray... (only set of films I've ever done that for) (all are special editions though) summary - Star Wars is my number 1....
  15. @chasmmi ok just reviewed the question. Only Question 20 is impacted. 20) Which combination of films will gross the smallest amount of money during the game? 1) Pete’s Dragon, Keanu, The Shallow, Nine Lives, 2) Legend of Tarzan, Ratchett and Clank, Me Before You, Arms and the Dudes 3) Ice Age, Money Monster, Lights Out, The Space Between Us, 4) Ben Hur, Now You See Me 2, The Shallows, Mechanic: Resurrection, Answer correctly: 30,000 points Answer incorrectly: lose 25,000 points State that you abstain: 5,000 points Part 2 has Arms and the Dudes. no real change since that film has only been renamed to War Dogs.
  16. @chasmmi Updated movie list (there have been some changes) (i've marked it up in red ) I should also note the order is different to the release dates. I'll check questions soon to see if any are impacted by these changes and update accordingly.
  17. TJB should cross 20m easily. The question is whether 30m is possible. Not bad for the boss. Dissappointed but I guess expected for allegiant. What im interested in is whether BVS went sub 1m for the weekend. (It really needs at least 1m to hit 30m at this point. )
  18. Wow. That's a crazy # for TJB. At this 100m is now all but locked. (A small chance it dips to 95m if it's a 40m sat. )but with 44m as some have said 110m is in reach and only few million shy of Alice's ow. Insane and impressive. Oh and I think I'm now on board for a 200m ow go civil war now...
  19. So everyone understands why the weekdays for TJB seemed to drop off badly in comparison to other films. Qld/Vic holidays have ended. School is back in there. While the rest of country only started the holidays.
  20. Weekend Results : 8th - 10th April - CJohn bosses Lucasbenica out of the top spot as he continues his slide.... @CJohn has managed to slip into the top spot with just over 42m, taking @lucasbenica from the top in what must seem to be a very early slip from the top spot especially given the high and time 2 weeks ago. Lucas managed just over 41m. @Wrath jumped into 3rd with 37m making the top 3 a close race this week. 4th was @grey ghost who slipped 2 places with 24m. @chasmmi rounded out the top 5 and was only a mere 90k under Greg Ghosts total. Next weekend sees the release of the next barbershop which should be able to make the right cut in the box office. Then again, the Jungle Book could (and will no doubt) blow everything else away... ok seriously, the top spot should end up being an easy win for @Wrath who has came third last weekend and has investments in both Barbershop and the jungle book. I also expect @The Panda Knight and myself to figure in the top 5.
