  1. Unless it's a 3D event, which I can't think of the last one that was (Avatar?), I generally go for 2D. I think the last 3D I went to was The Force Awakens. As a side, the 4:35pm just sold out here.
  2. I think it comes down to people tired of paying the surcharge for it (here it's $3).
  3. If it's close, they'll just take some from King Arthur. Nobody would notice.
  4. Agreed. Cavill proved he has charmed in Man from UNCLE, so hopefully someone like Matthew Vaughn and bring the cheeriness back to the character (and this is coming from someone who liked MOS).
  5. Good news on Aquaman is, unlike Suicide Squad, it's being filmed with the course correction already being implemented. Kind of surprised, pleasantly, that Wonder Woman was able to do it since that was in production well before BvS was released.
  6. Well, he said a DC movie in that slot. Could be Suicide Squad 2 or Gotham City Sirens. The Batman won't be ready until 2019 at the earliest since Reeves can't start working on it until after Apes is released.
  7. You really think Scooby is a big movie for them? Not in the same league as Lego Movie 2 and Wonder Woman 2. Edit: Oh, and not a big cross over with demos. Scooby will attract families with kids under 10; Godzilla vs. Kong older. Also, different genres and demos for all three of those (romance-drama, horror, comedy). One would think there's a fair amount of cross over between LM2 and WW2, esp if there's though WW performs well with families. On Scooby, can't think it'll do well given they're still releasing like 2 dtv movies a year.
  8. 10am here sold out. 11:15am probably will too. Amazes me anybody would want to purchase tickets right up front (which was all that was available when I checked earlier). Edit: 11:15 sold out, 12:30 sold out. Edit 2: Over an hour before showtime, 2:35pm sold out. Edit 3: 7:10pm sold out Edit 4: 6:05pm sold out and 9:25pm certainly will Edit 5: 9:25pm sold out; it'll be close, but the 11:15pm might sell out, currently ~70% sold
  9. When it comes to writers, who knows how much of it they're responsible for. Just look at Wonder Woman. Apparently Jenkins had a hand in writing it, but due to WGA guidelines, she did not receive credit. Jason Fuchs did.
  10. So, you want it to be fast tracked, but fire the writer and director? Not sure if that's any better of a recipe. Also, Ayer isn't writing it, only directing. Someone else is.
  11. Too tired to do a count, but tomorrow's 2D showings are looking really good (locally). 10 am through 9:25pm (8 total) will no doubt be sold out with only a spattering of a few in the middle and the front available). Even the 11:15pm showing is filling up and could sell out. My theater also had added one more showtime tonight so wouldn't surprise me if they added another tomorrow. And outside of the first showing on 3D, the other 4 are doing okay; one of them could sell out.
  12. Given next week's Mummy movie probably isn't stiff (so to speak) competition, plus the (rare?) alignment of critics and audiences, should see a better than usual drop next weekend.
  13. IDK, seems ambitious. I suppose Gotham City Sirens could be ready for a 2018 date with minimal visual effects. Already have a director and hired a writer (forgot her name) as well as Margot Robbie to star and produce.
  14. Wasn't sure where to place this, but WW seems to be doing quite well tonight. 3 sell outs (including a 3D showing which has been the weaker format in terms of ticket sales), the 9:25 pm only has the front row available and with over an hour to go, will likely sell out. Even the 11:15 pm showing is 70% full.
  15. Probably doesn't mean much, but the 7:10pm showing in my area sold out. The 6:05 has 10 left, all in the first two rows (and 8 of those in the first row).
  16. Why are you scared? The budget was, depending on what you believe, between $125-150M. Realistically it'll make $600-700M WW (perhaps more). Add to that critical praise and a sequel is assured. GOTG1 made $773M WW off of a $170M budget, was there any question of it getting a sequel?
