  1. So I saw this the other day and... it was so-so. I didn't laugh once but I also wasn't annoyed with anyone, particularly McCarthy, though there was her trademark snarky dialogue. Even though I don't think it was awful, I have no desire to watch it again. **½/*****, (C, 4.9/10, 2/4)

  3. Parts were decent but having never played WoW, I found myself lost with the characters (and thus couldn't care less about any of them). The plot, though, was simple enough and I guess I've seen worse. However, that score really reminded me of the orc themes from the Lord of the Rings. **½/*****, (C, 5.2/10, 2/4)
  4. Eh, I guess it was better than the first and I did appreciate some of the fan service with Krang and his robotic suit, the garbage truck that launches manholes, etc but it's only 105 minutes (sans credits) yet felt like it was well over two hours. It also has the same issues with Transformers and the like, seeing a bunch of CGI characters fighting other CGI characters; there's no weight to any of it. I also had to laugh at the gratuitous sexy schoolgirl outfit change for Megan Fox whose April O'Neil is just a footnote though Splinter even more so. Oh, and Splinter was such a useless and toothless villain. So yeah, technically better than the first but not by much. **/*****, (D+, 3.8/10, 1.5/4)
  5. Having watched both Conjuring movies two nights in a row, this one is just as good with some effective scares, though the first had superior scares, while the story this time was a bit better. It is a win that a horror sequel managed to at least be equal to its predecessor. ****/*****, (B+, 8.1/10, 3.25/4)
  6. IDK, just watched and thought it was OK for the first 30 minutes or so but then went off the deep end of ludicrousy (not even sure that's a word) in the third act. The performances were fine (although anybody could've played Roberts' role) but I couldn't have cared less about Kyle, heck, I kind of agreed with his wife... **¾/*****, (C, 5.6/10, 2.25/4)
  7. Originally reported (as their exclusive) by Variety (while THR had an exclusive that Liman was no longer directing Gambit, lol) http://variety.com/2016/film/news/doug-liman-justice-league-dark-dc-warner-bros-1201838857/
  8. Was really interested based on the trailers and the movie mostly delivers for the first hour or so but kind of loses steam in the third act where it became apparent this was going down the same road as, of all things, Cars 2. Still, I enjoying seeing Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling even if the latter's character isn't exactly consistent in his competency while Angourie Rice, despite playing a precocious kid, wasn't half bad. I might have to watch it again, maybe in a year or so, but for now it's kind of disappointing yet still entertaining at the same time. ***½/*****, (B, 6.9/10, 2.75/4)
  9. Chris Hemsworth and, to some extent, Jessica Chastain, makes this watchable, but the whole premise didn't quite work for me; it's also a prequel/sequel we didn't really need as the first movie wasn't that great. **½/*****, (C, 5.2/10, 2/4)
  10. Having seen it in the theater, the intimacy was incredible.
  11. Bingo. I liked the animation but I was completely bored throughout the entire thing. **¼/*****, (C-, 4.5/10, 1.75/4)
