  1. These sequels wouldn't exist if not for OS. They end up profitable no matter how hard they bomb DOM.
  2. Which is way too high with Minions coming. People should just be happy aiming for 300. After all it is less than 15m ahead of Monsters University at the same point, and that missed 300 by over 30m. And MU's 2nd weekend drop was less than 2% steeper. Yes this weekend's drop was good and so will next weekend's be, but then it's unlikely to have great holds.
  3. Little high for JW and lmfao if Ted actually went that low, but that's about my forecast as well.
  4. Speaking of Spielberg/Lucas, Mr. Trevorrow is having one of the most successful directorial breakouts since the two of them.
  5. Best bring your five favorite things for that lonely island of an opinion.
  6. I honestly don't think they look much alike at all except the red hair of course.
  7. By the way, since TA and JW grossed nearly the same this weekend if JW were to gross as much as TA did from this point it would end with 666m. Hail Satan!
  8. She made The Village bearable. I knew she was promising from then on.
  9. Quick question on the first part. If we put say Avengers and say it passed Titanic, would that be a lose points situation?
  10. Ding ding ding ding ding! Too bad judging by that trajectory, I'm bound to like 5 even less than Skull.
  11. I wonder if Ted 2's budget was small enough that it will still be a hit despite such a massive admissions bleed from the first?
  12. McCarthy has proven to be a WOM machine. All of her lead role films have pulled between 3.9-4.1x multis, and it looks like Spy may be headed for that range as well.
  13. New USA? Ooh, did the South finally secede again?
  14. It's a real possibility, imo. I think MMXXL will do well enough, but it will be very OD frontloaded just like the first. Still expecting Terminator to not do much. IO and JW are both playing to families well, and that's a big 4th audience so drops should be soft for them next weekend. If IO and JW do 52-55 this weekend I wouldn't be surprised if it goes something like this next weekend: 1/2: JW/IO - 32-35m 3/4: MM/TG - 28-32m 4 movies over 30m would be pretty cool.
  15. Except I'm an idiot because it just occurred to me this isn't IO's 3rd weekend.
  16. If IO and JW both beat TA's 3rd weekend, we'd have the 2nd and 3rd best 3rd weekend in the same weekend.
  17. I've always liked the first one for what it is. I'd put it on the same level as JW as well, I may also even prefer it.
  18. That's way better than the average animated June Sat jump for IO.
  19. JW has a small chance to beat TA's 3rd weekend now if it's on the high end of the range.
  20. Wow, fantastic Sat jumps for IO and JW! This could be our biggest photo finish for #1 in awhile. Lol @ Ted 2.
  21. Even Baumer only cried over the action sequences in TF, not the "characters."
  22. 500m worth of people have seen it DOM, over 1b WW. If someone here hasn't by now, why are they posting on a movie/box office forum?
  23. Macy and Leoni were such random casting choices for that movie. As I mentioned in an earlier discussion, Dern has always failed to grab my attention prior to just very recently with her excellent turn in Wild.
  24. Claire was a good character. Her arc added the only real "human touch" to the movie. Owen was a mediocre character, but Pratt still elevated him to make him more memorable than a good chunk of the characters in the rest of the series. Basically: 1. Malcolm 2. Claire 3. Alan Grant 4. Hammond 5. Owen Only characters worth mentioning in the franchise.
