  1. Ouch, Ted might be in for a sub 40m OW if that OD range sticks. This will be a fun battle between JW and IO this weekend. Considering both are playing big to kids, hard to say which will have the better Sat jump.
  2. If it opens to that and gets the kind of multi I expect it to, that will be one massive sequel drop off.
  3. Definitely think Ted is getting 3rd this weekend.
  4. But..but..Dark Shadows? The Dictator? What to Expect When You're Expecting?
  5. Crazy that today marks ET's first day out of the DOM top 10 in over 32 years. So practically since "modern" box office began.
  6. This damn SOTM is forcing me to do way more BO extrapolating than any sane/normal person should be doing.
  7. Which is very realistic given the unusually high OW it had, animation multis these days, and Minions.
  8. 1) Will JW stay number one? YES 2) Will Ted open to more than 60 mill? NO 3) Will Max open to more than 10 mill? YES 4) Will Inside out finish in one of the top two spots? YES 5) Will JWs Sunday drop from Father's Day Sunday be more than 50%? YES 6) Will Inside Out make more than Ted on Saturday? YES 7) Will Spy drop more than 29%? NO 8) Will JW's WW gross be more than 1.2 billion dollars? YES 9) Will Ted have Thursday previews of more than 3.5 mill? NO 10) Will Tele still hate JW after this weekend? YES 11) Will Avengers drop more than 52%? NO 12) Will any film drop less than 20% for the weekend, that is playing in the top 12 and in more than 700 theaters. YES 13) Will any film increase more than 75% on Friday? YES 11/13 3000 12/13 5000 13/13 7000 What finishes in spots: 1 Jurassic World 2 Inside Out 3 Ted 2 4 Max 5 Spy 2000 each correct spot and 5000 bonus for all five right Bonus 1: What does JW and TED combine to gross this weekend? 5000 104.475 Bonus 2: What does IO and Spy combine to gross this weekend? 5000 59.210 Good luck!
  9. I agree, and the first was a huge unexpected surprise for me. So I'm looking forward to this, but the trailer doesn't do much for me.
  10. Loved this whole exchange, pulled it from IMDB's quotes section: Rick Ford: You really think you're ready for the field? I once used defibrillators on myself. I put shards of glass in my fuckin' eye. I've jumped from a high-rise building using only a raincoat as a parachute and broke both legs upon landing; I still had to pretend I was in a fucking Cirque du Soleil show! I've swallowed enough microchips and shit them back out again to make a computer. This arm has been ripped off completely and re-attached with *this* fuckin' arm. Susan Cooper: I don't know that that's possible... I mean medically... Rick Ford: During the threat of an assassination attempt, I appeared convincingly in front of congress as Barack Obama. Susan Cooper: In black-face? That's not appropriate. Rick Ford: I watched the woman I love get tossed from a plane and hit by another plane mid-air. I drove a car off a freeway on top of a train while it was on fire. Not the car, *I* was on fire. Susan Cooper: Jesus, you're intense. On an aside, I can't believe this movie isn't going to gross as much as the horrid Identity Thief.
  11. Really the odds are against it having much of any jump over TWS at all. I mean LOTR and TS are like the only big trilogies to all get an admissions bump over the other. Debatable for TS actually.
  12. The parts of that movie that work are better than 90% of other blockbusters/epics out there. But yes, too bloated for sure in that first act especially.
  13. Watch it only have like a 10% jump over Winter Soldier.
  14. Not even mentioning how Leo pissed him off on the set of Titanic so he purposefully rewrote the script at the last moment to have Jack die. It was so last moment they didn't even have time to make the size of the driftwood smaller.
  15. The Academy would never go for Mad Max. It wouldn't even make it into a field of 25 BP noms with them.
  16. My thoughts as well. Statham and Byrne were just hilarious. The way Byrne deadpanned some of her lines was just hysterical. I almost spit out my soda when she bluntly followed up McCarthy's corny "owl" toast with "what a stupid fucking retarded toast. You're lovely."
  17. Yeah, that JP4 probably would've only made like 150m. If even.
  18. I still remember when JP4 was actually scheduled for a 2005 release. Crazy it took a decade longer than that.
  19. Probably, considering they straight up stole the melody from a near 10 year old Rob Thomas song:
  20. To me it's following the reverse trajectory of GotG. Both started out as huge question marks with lots of flop talk, but GotG marketing managed to keep getting better and better and the were celarly building hype for it by this point last year. Unlike Ant-Man, where I feel like the hype is just getting more and more non-existent.
  21. And then Dory comes along next summer and slays them all...
