  1. WB is incredibly paranoid and underconfident about every non-Batman/Superman DC properties. Even in their direct to video animated releases, where stakes and budgets are much lower than live action theatrical releases, just because their GL and WW related films didn't sell as much as their initial Batman and Superman movies, they stuck to only Batman/Superman, with the occasional Justice League movie.
  2. Yup, once GL proved to be such a disaster, it guaranteed another 5-6 years at least of only Batman/Superman from WB and DC.
  3. Flash is a much easier and cheaper movie to make than Green Lantern. WB is absolutely stupid not to make a Flash movie earlier. And I don't even know what they were thinking coming out with Jonah Hex and Halle Berry Catwoman before DC A-Listers like Flash and Wonder Woman.
  4. I wouldn't mind FF going back to Marvel/Disney, only so that we can finally have Doom vs. Avengers epicness!
  5. But X-Men don't have an Iron Man type of player with them who brings in 300m+ for each solo movie. FC, and now The Wolverine, will both finish much below Thor and Captain America even. As for the release date, DoFP is the THIRD Marvel/superhero movie to be released within 1.5 months, after CA2 and TASM2. Overkill much?
  6. Don't expect that anytime soon dude. The X-Films are dropping in BO numbers from each previous movie, but not mega bombing like the Narnia sequels. It will take no less for Fox to give up the rights. They are not even letting go of Fantastic Four, and that has proven to be a far less lucrative franchise than X-Men for them.
  7. Yikes, so even less than FC? Oh how the mighty have fallen.
  8. Just 'coz it didn't take itself as seriously as Syrian conflicts like one MoS doesn't mean it was a farce comedy. It had its themes under its lightheartedness, actually making it layered. Even if it were a farce (which it wasn't, satire is a more fitting word), it had a lot more to tell than MoS which was all pretense.
  9. Wow, so 60m OW is not locked yet? That is slightly disconcerting. Slightly.
  10. FC had its moments and the acting is fantastic, but X1 and X2 have stronger rewatchability values, despite their shortcomings.
  11. Will be interesting to see whether The Wolverine hits the 60's or not this weekend.
  12. Coz TASM trolling is some serious business around these parts.
  13. I hate this story so much. Whenever there is an Avengers vs. X-Men plotline in the comics, Avengers always come across as douchey bullies and the whole thing becomes a gross majority(Avengers) vs. minorities allegory with horribly wrong insinuations.
  14. The Superior Spider-Man has proven that Otto Octavius is Marvel Top 3.
  15. Lol some of my guy friends who are in their mid twenties scream like bitches when we go to watch movies like The Woman in Black.
  16. fishnets, have you seen SMG in Veronika Decides To Die, based on Paulo Coelho's book of the same name? Her performance was truly beautiful and award worthy and managed to amaze even Mr. Coelho himself! Also agree about CI. That last scene where her character Kathryn is caught with the drugs in her cross pendant and Sebastian's diary is distributed among the kids with The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony slowly building in the background was goosebump inducing. And the fact that she never even got nominated at the Emmies for Buffy even once, let alone actually win, is a disgrace for the ages. If Buffy had come now, mainstream would be lapping it up like nobody's business. I mean Anna Paquin being nominated for True Blood? Lol. SMG and Joss were so before their time!
  17. OMG so true! I wonder what will happen next week now.
  18. Sarah Michelle Gellar. Gorgeous darling of the late 90's and early 00's (and original Whedon partner-in-crime) with a whip smart sense of humor and neat acting chops, but who tragically got typecast as a "Scream Queen" and then signed some interesting roles but then most of those projects were never released, had highly limited releases or straight to DVD. Hollywood wasted her potential big time. Oh and trivial tidbit for fishnets: Poor SMG featured in a horror dud in 2006 called The Return costarring none other than Miranda Otto's husband, Peter O'Brien!
  19. Both have crap legs, and that is what the discussion is about.
  20. Low to moderate budget comedy and horror movies are the most immune to RT yes, but not big budget flicks like MoS, PR and even the Transformers.
  21. At this point though, da Stone easily draws more peeps to movies than da Cage!
  22. The comment was specifically about the relationship between RT and a movie's legs, and MoS legs were craptastic considering that huge OW. Actually no. There are incredibly few films (if any at all) with a 3 or more multiplier which have not been exactly hot among the critics. Whereas many movies get A, A+ or A- on CS and then prove to have meh to laughable legs.
  23. Thank You. Emma is such a stealth BO draw that people don't even seriously consider her over here. Nicolas? Lol.
  24. RT has time and again proven to be a way better indicator of legs and multipliers than CS.
