  1. The man got some serious dancing talent. He's awesome. Have you watched his appearance on Jimmy Fallon last month? He was there to promote The Way, Way Back. He did some improv dances with Jimmy, they were hilarious.
  2. With just OW in China, it will get past 1B WW. Wonderful.
  3. Gonna be stressful waiting for the Wolverine daily numbers for sure B said he'll probably end up counting both ways, that'll give us ~30k less to worry about.
  4. 127.11 if it's within 5% of prediction. 127.43 if it's within 5% of actual gross.
  5. There are lots of sci-fi movies from Hollywood this year, but they're not doing so hot stateside, so I guess we can't ask much from Japan either, especially when most of those movie's quality is nothing to write home about. I'm very surprised how poor The Hobbit did, the number it pulled in Japan is absolutely horrible considering how big and popular the LOTR franchise was.
  6. I think it's doable. Looks like it'll be around 122.5 going into the weekend. If TC loss is not too much, it could be close to 125M by Sunday. Crossing fingers that Fox expanded its theaters on Labor Day weekend.
  7. Yeah, I know. I was just counting it as 2012 releases in Hollywood terms, that's why I said technically.
  8. Not counting Ted and Les Mis, which are technically 2012 releases, Hollywood movies of 2013 has been doing not so hot in Japan barring MU. Any other Hollywood releases looking promising or have potential to do well later in the year? I guess with TH:AUJ disappointed, DOS won't do that well either. CF will always be seen as Battle Royale knock-off, so no chance it'll grossing much over there. I think future 2013 releases that will have big potential in Japan are most likely animations. It's looking pretty bleak right now.
  9. The movie has its moments. I love how they handle the issue between Tony and his dad. Him watching the recorded video from Howard is one of those great character moments of Tony Stark that Marvel succeed in showing throughout the trilogy.I also like Sam Rockwell, he portrayed the sleaziness, underhandedness, despicable side of Hammer well. I would love to see him return if there ever is another Iron Man movie. What I don't like is characterizations of some characters or the lack there of. Black Widow is one, she kicks ass, she's tough, she's a SHIELD agent, but there's not much more offered about her personality or character. I adore the Tony/Pepper dynamics in IM1, but their relationship in this one annoyed me. I just don't like how they handle the transition to one of romantic nature.Plot wise, the movie tried to accomplish too much that it ended up falling short of things.Overall, it's an okay movie. I don't loathe it, but I'm not crazy about it either. C/C+
  10. I think I might have missed it, but I don't see a thread for The Aviator in the archive. If there is one, please kindly point me to it. If there's not, then I'd liked to request it:The Aviator (2004)
  11. I'm on a Martin Scorsese' movies marathon, this is the second movies watched after The Departed. It was a great movie, a classic gem in the mob/gangster categories for sure. It has the distinct Scorsese flavor in it, and as often seen in his movies, strong acting performances from everyone. Compelling story, good directing, neat editing, and great music. A+
  12. Looking at the top admissions list, Russia is clearly not a superhero movies-friendly country. I'm very glad that Avengers managed to be successful. Hopefully, MCU through Avengers and IM3 had built for itself a relatively solid fan base in Russia.
  13. I just rewatched this today. It's a very good movie. The actings are great from everyone, tight script, good direction. The movie did a wonderful job in portraying the theme about identity and the struggle, resentments, conflict that come with it.I rarely see remades living up to originals, but The Departed really brought the game. It managed to capture the tone, and all that made Infernal Affairs a great movie, while also showing viewers its own uniqueness, definitely not being a lesser carbon copy.I gave it an A

  15. So you're saying there's still hope. I'll take it. More fingers need to be crossed then
  16. I did horrible last week, only got 9 out of 15 questions
  17. I haven't watched much of the popular "bad" movies cause I avoid them. So just from all that I've seen, Gangster Squad would be it.
  18. If it's within 5% of actuals, then scoring won't be hard cause there will only be one range for each movie. But if it's within 5% of each person's prediction though.... I don't envy B
  19. Well, I don't mind. If it's within prediction, then the goal will be less, I'm totally in support of that
