  1. Mattrek, I just checked the bonuses, it's Baumer who got bonus 2, not gizmo. Actual is 31.696, Baumer got 31.625; Gizmo is 31.794. B is closer to the actual. Sorry, I think I missed him entirely the first time I look. The others are right though, but if you wanna re-check, please do so. I'm really sorry that I messed it up
  2. You're confusing yourself there, honey. Take some rest, think it over, and then come back with a more solid number for us, okay?!
  3. Kinda funny that Luke Hobbs was referenced to 3 different Avengers in 1 movie All suiting too I must say.
  4. With the success of TA, TDKR, to a lesser extent, TASM last year; and IM3 this year, it shows that superhero movies have entered a new height in popularity OS now. Even more so than the Raimi's Spider Man trilogy era. Superman is also a well-known figure, if WB know how to handle the marketing OS well, together with 3D and expanded markets, I can see it break out on a small scale. 400M is doable, with good chances to go even higher. Russia release date is not that bad really, cause according to Juni (resident poster in Russia thread), Pixar animations are not big over there. Also, TA and IM3 success had boosted the profile of superhero movies over there. Not sure about Japan, but wasn't August the month when they're gonna have a national holiday season/festival of some kinds? TA was released in Japan late too, on August last year and it did great. I don't know anything about Brazil though, don't know why they couldn't have released MOS at the same time as other Latin America region. But is piracy a big problem over there? If not, it shouldn't matter much. For comparison, I remembered Cap grossed 20M in Brazil, TASM 30M; MOS could certainly do somewhere in that range. I wouldn't count on China though, nothing's sure with the release dates over there. IM3's date is announced like 2 days before, and it was almost screwed over despite being a co-production. Still, I can see MOS gross 40M+ in China.
  5. If they release it this weekend, it will have to deal with FF6 2nd weekend, which will still be strong OS. Next weekend is better, MOS will be release in about 13 OS territories on Thursday, and 16 OS territories on Friday. Couple with domestic OW, even if it might not open to no.1 OS (I think it will consider it's FF6's 3rd weekend); MOS will get the No.1 WW on that weekend. Way better for news headlines.
  6. A Jet Li movie? That sounds like a success already. What is the potential for it? $100M or more? But considering it will open just 1 day before Tiny Times, which you said could be even bigger than So Young, they could eat into each other grosses?
  7. WB certainly set 70% as the target. Gotta have another record for this franchise
  8. Will you stop by to give us numbers later tonight, Rth?
  9. Bonus 1: for 3-day, it's Simionski, talk about hitting it right on, he got 37.296, actual 37.291 For 4-day, Shawn got 47.5, actual 47.187 Bonus 2: Baumer 31.625 (actual 31.696) Bonus 3: Jake Gittes 45.549% (actual 46.4%) Looks like I'm helping Baumer with the scoring
  10. I thought it's 17,000 points, but thanks to you, it's 21,000 Not bad.
  11. Oh, thank you Olive for catching that, I thought I got that one wrong. Yay, 1 more question right means 3000 bonus
  12. When is Children's Day in China? Every movies across the board should get a boost, right? Also, Olive, about IM3, how many more days will it be in theater? What's the likely finished total? Thank you in advance
  13. This movie is my top movie of 2006. The acting are great all around, with wonderful performance by lead actor Song Kang Ho. Go Ah Sung was also very captivating in her role as the daughter. Another standout performance for me is Park Hae Il, who played the protagonist's young brother. It's a nice mix of genres: monsters, comedy, thriller, and underlying political commentary. The Host shows Park family's struggle with a physical, real river monster; as well as the monster that is the government's dark/shady sides. At the same time, it's also about internal struggle with domestic conflicts, relationship issues; and the demons that existed within the family members themselves. True to the style of director Bong Joon Ho, The Host is also very funny, filled with Bong's dark humor type. It also has heartwarming messages about love and sacrifices, between father-son, father-daughter, brother-sister, etc.. It's what family is about. The special effect is surprisingly good with the low budget the movie got. It's nothing spectacular by any means, but for me, it holds up well. I'll give this one an A+. It's also director Bong's best film to date, edging out Memories of Murder for me. I hope to see him continue to show quality in his work, starting with the upcoming movie Snowpiercer.
  14. Tele, did you see my post? So no foreign movies allowed? Or there's already threads for The Host and Oldboy? Okay, I just read the rules, the movie has to have North America release. I don't think Oldboy had it, but I remember The Host had limited release.
  15. I'm gonna get 17,000 points for Week 5 game. Damn it, just 1 more question right, and it could have been 21,000 <_<Edit: Thanks to Olive, it's 21,000
  16. Anything you ask I'm sure all our members will find a way to pay Anything.
  17. So the ranking for this weekend OS should be I guess: 1. FF6: 158M 2. TGG: 24.4M 3. Epic: 23.1M 4. THO3: 19.2M 5. IM3: 17.4M 6. STiD: 13.1M 7. The Croods: 5.8M 8. Oblivion: 2.3M 9. Evil Dead: 2.2M That's all I got, waiting for Rth to save the day with his super detailed report
  18. I looked at the results, I did not do well My weekly games seem to get worse each week
  19. Isn't that 40% just from OW? It could be a higher percentage later in its run. I know a lot of female fans, especially the older ones, wait for later weekends, when it's less crowded. A good amount of female audience members are repeat viewers too.
  20. Epic and IM3 has the best Monday drops, under 20%, is that a common for family movies?
  21. I hope FF6 defy the odds and drop close to 55%
