The movie really progresses slowly at the beginning, but then, in the end, it gives you so much information that it nearly makes you forget that it was boring as hell until then. The ending part was really unnecessary, and I don't know if it's in the book or not, but it was stupid, too sudden and too stupidly done.

a decent film with very good, tense scenes in it. Very atmospheric, Desplat and Polanski makes an excellent team. I completely adored the car chase/ferry escape, the note passing and the very last shot, amazing.

Wow, I LOVED this movie. I think it is the best movie I've seen so far this year. Like, it was 1 in the morning when I started watching it and I was almost falling asleep and then the film starts and my sleepiness disappears. Loved McGregor in it and the soundtrack was brilliant. It is a very... moody film, really nicely shot. And yeah, the ending is wtf. Way too sudden.
