Is it pronounced gif(hard G) as in gift or gif(soft G) as in Jif peanut butter

The original creator of .gifs says it is supposed to be Jif but everyone says Gif with the hard g

Ohhhh boy. This is a heavily debated thing on the internet. The internet at large had decided to call it Gif. Then the creator of Gif's said "It is pronounced Jif". But since it goes against common usage, there is now a big debate if the creator of something has more rights to name a widespread thing post adoption.

I think the share price fall will have more to do with the conversion than anything else. A 10% fall in share prices is not something a LionsGate can afford to have every single time.

“Catching Fire” took in $161.1 million domestically and $307.7 million worldwide, making it the 12th-largest worldwide debut ever. Though results were in line with the average forecast, they fell short of the high end of expectations and Lionsgate stock fell $3.46 to $30.30.
