Not my favourite Woody Allen (that would be "Sleeper"), but a real lovely film with many memorable lines. Allen and Keaton have great chemistry as always, and Paul Simon is in it! While it's not much of a story, it's a beautiful portrait of US 70s culture.

Its not as good as Manhattan (then again, how many movies are?), but Annie Hall is just charming with a capital C. 

As far as romantic comedies go, Annie Hall is perfection. I sho love me some Woody Allen

I've never really been a fan of Woody Allen or his movies.  It's been years since I saw this.  The only thing I remembered was the scene with Marshall McCluean.  You know nothing of my work.

an expression of anxieties that goes beyond the relationship. the performances are uniformly fantastic. perhaps a bit heavy on the nostalgia and there were a few times i was a little irritated, but it's exceptionally clever, creative and funny.

 

and obviously, incontestably better than star wars.

Genius, I loved it. The subtitles randomly of there inner thoughts is hilarious. The writing is spot on. Woody Allen is King.

There are films which can be described as showcases in writing, and then there's Annie Hall.I'm not typically much of a Woody fan outside of Manhattan, but this is something else. One could make the statement that the writing on display here is simply sharp as fuck. However you describe it, it is consistently engaging and draws out the characters in a way few films have. This is one of those films that is simply about life itself. As such, it is funny, sad, frustrating, etc. It feels very much like the glimpse into the lives of everyday people. There is a subtle style to it that draws out the realistic nature of the film. Special mention has to go to that killer ending as well. Ties up the whole film in pretty much the best way possible.Simply put.......a timeless portrait of the modern relationship.

Woody Allen used to be super funny, and this is one of his best works. Honest, brilliantly observed, and just incredibly funny.

 

I also recommend his book, Without Feathers. It's one of the funniest things I've ever read.

I was hoping I would like more all the praise it gets but I only food it good. Dialog was good and funny. The characters were well developed but I do not feel like I need to see the film again.

Just got done watching this. I found it quite insightful, nostalgic and touching. Woody Allen and Diane Keaton had lovely chemistry and turned in great performance.

Some very clever editing and charmingly self aware. I found the last monologue quite sincere and it left me thinking about relationships.

Classic. 4/4
