Hernan Gonzalez
I guess Rio 2 beats Rio?In 2011 Rio sold 1.65 m tickets. Yesterday was a wierd day due to the general strike. We have to wait a little bit to see how high can Rio 2 fly...
Hernan Gonzalez
Good Friday for Rio 2 with 44k admissions for a total of 85706 admissions, around $0.5m Good hold for Noah entering its second weekend (-43%) even though the critics and word of mouth are horrible Early today Captain America 2 is going to beat Iron Man 2 Edited April 12, 2014 by Henry I
Fullbuster
Iron Man 2 is mediocre, good news. The Avengers 2 could be huge here, particularly if the exchange rate improves.
Hernan Gonzalez
Awesome Saturday for Rio 2!! It sold 125k tickets!!! It should become the second best weekend for 2014 not far from Frozen's opening weekend!!! TWS passed IM2 and now stands at 645652 admissions, on the third position for 2014. Thor 2 should fall next weekend thanks to the Easter holiday help. Noah keeps doing pretty good despite the critics (It´s on the 6th place at the worst movies for 2014's list http://www.cinesargentinos.com.ar/ranking/calificadas/2014/) It stands on the second spot this weekend with 83365 admissions (Total 423265 adm.) Argentina is a very catholic country, The Passion of the Christ did very good there. Remember that the new Pope is argentinean. Edit: Rio 2 sold 211666 admissions in 3 days!!! Not yet, Cap needs to sell another 135k tickets to beat TDW but it won't be a problem with the Easter holidays ahead!!

Fullbuster
Rio 2 is bigger there than in Brazil, quite ironic for a Brazil-based movie.

Hernan Gonzalez
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 arrives this Thursday!! The previous films were very successful. Exchange rate and admission prices played an important part making TASM champion in U$S but non of them sold as many tickets as the first one back in 2002: Year / Film / Admissions / Gross according to BOM 2002, Spider-Man, 1.69m, $2.23m 2004, Spider-Man 2, 1.59m, $3.49m 2007, Spider-Man 3, 1.40m, $4.58m 2012, The Amazing Spider-Man, 1.19m, $8.27m Last weekend TASM2 opened in the neighbor market, Uruguay, and it almost doubled TASM. That's a good sing! Let's see what happens this weekend in Argentina Edited April 23, 2014 by Henry I
