the scary part is, the film could drop to 13 to 14m for the weekend (> 50% drop which is unusual for the christmas weekend - see avatar for the example) and still be a threat for 100m as it's 3rd weekend drop will be crazy no matter how i look at it.

 

will do up a avatar vs Star wars comparison as it's the only film that we can compare to for SW now given this opening.

It's going to be an absolutely insane next two weeks for us.. Particularly if we get another heatwave or two.

 

My sites presales for tomorrow are already roughly 25% of today's admits. And that's a Monday. I'd say tomorrow's drop could be under 50%. Which would be crazy!

I just looked at Event George St.  TFA has 45 screenings today (workday Monday) and all of the Gold Class are sold out or almost gone.  The next best screening number is Spectre with 5 and then MJ2, Mojin-The Lost Legend and Surprise-Journey to the West with 4 each.

 

What were the previous best Friday, Saturday and Sunday numbers?

would be funny if it broke the boxing day record... which to be honest isn't completely impossible even if it's the 2nd Saturday.  There are already sellouts for boxing day as it is.

you do realise that SW7 has just put up the 1st, 3rd and 4th highest single days (pretty sure nothing else has made it much past 6m here other than Potter that is.
