Australia will end up being the biggest overseas market for TGG. About 50% higher then the UK and a gross of around $300m relative to the domestic market. Comic book movies are now about 1:1 relative to the US. The grosses of TDKR, TA and IM3 are all 1/10 of the domestic market in Australia. Can Man of Steel maintain this current trend?

Top 20 - June 13th - 16th 2013The coming weekend will be an interesting blood bath to say the least.  This time I'm going against Pixar as I think Despicable Me 2 has the money on Monsters University right now.  It's a tough call but i think it's on the cards even with the burnt off demand from DM2.  Of course WWZ also opens but it's even harder to predict at the moment. The top 5 should look like as follows: 1. DM2 - 5.5m2. MU - 4.5m3. Fast 6 - 2.5m4. WWZ - 2.3m5. TGG - 2.0m

WWZ will make a lot more than $2.3m - it'll be closer to $4.5-5m.Do holidays start this weekend? (Not working at a cinema I have no idea when they are anymore)

Nice! So Dm2 and MU are going to opening big(ish) but have good legs thanks to a staggered school holiday schedule - love it!

I don't know... i'm hedging my bets on WWZ - it looks great, big star, but it's a zombie film.  zombie / horror films tend not to be as strong in australia hence my lower opening, but 4m ??? hmmmm I'd be impressed if it opened that big.  (would love it if WWZ opened #1 over the weekend)

Sad that IM3 can't get to 40M. It's soooo close  Well, it outperformed my expectations by a large margin, so I should be happy I guess  Crossing fingers for Thor:TDW to do good business in Aus too

WWZ tracking has increased a lot last week its probably more like WWZ around 5, Dme2 4.2, mu 4.1

I actually don't have much interest in MU.... However I am wanting to see the other 2 films though

 

Planning to take the kids this weekend to see DM2 if all goes well.
