Happy Christmas to everybody!

My gift for you is many new flops: Wish opened with just 1M euros (less than Encanto), Aquaman with 1M too (much less than the first), Beyoncé with 200k (less than the already bad 700k of Taylor Swift), Migration is already out of the top 10 and Ferrari after its second week looks like it won't even reach 5M euros, let alone House of Gucci

Wonka and C'è Ancora Domani instead are still going well

Migration isn't out of top 10, it was 8th on sat. Still bad as fuck, though.

C'è ancora domani has surpassed Barbie. Paola is the new queen of the Italian box office. I think it's time to change the thread title.

Incredible and unbelievable result, let's not forget it opened with just 1.6M euros and this mean it had x20 legs

I'm happy that a film with such an important theme and with quality was seen by so many people (it will end with almost 5M tickets), because we really needed it

imo this is the most impressive box office run of this year in any country: only one that compares is 12:12 the day which also has had crazy legs in Korea, or maybe Mario in Mexico

Personally, I would put Cheburashka at #1.  It is easily the most attended film in Russia since 2004 (23.6M admissions versus Avatar's 14.3M).  12.12: The Day, SMBM, and C'è Ancora Domani won't be even the most attended films in their markets from 2019-2023.

Incredible recovery for Wish, after opening with just 1M euros it grossed 4M during it's second week and has now reached 5M!

Good increase also for Aquaman but not as strong, after the 1M opening it made 2.5M and is now at 3.5M

This is very true of course, but I wouldn't ignore how incredibly impressive C'è ancora domani's run is for an italian film in 2023.  The last non-Zalone huge italian film was in 2010 with Benvenuti al Sud (and its sequel shortly after), which grossed 29M euros, and the market has only gotten weaker since.

And to find instead something bigger (excluding Zalone) we need to reach 2002 when Natale sul Nilo and Pinocchio grossed an estimate of 34M and 33M euros

I forgot about Cheburashka

Gross will be hard but Admission-wise. C’è ancora domani is at 4.881.574 (as of 01/01) vs Avatar: The Way Of Water at 5.058.147!

Good debuts for the jan 1st openers, 943k euros for "Succede anche nelle migliori famiglie" and 837k euros for Boy and the Heron, best debut ever for Miyazaki.

I was going to be seeing it yesterday but got hit with a nasty flu instead :sadfleck:

Damn, I hope you will recover in time

The latest Siani comedy grossed 3M euros so I think this will pass it, while the highest grossing Ghibli movie instead is Spirited Away at 1.5M...

Did Cinema apply anything like 1 week release? How much can we expect like ATG among Japanese Titles?

Doesn't seem like it, my local theaters still have it playing through the 10th so this seems like a normal release.

Not sure about its finish, would like to see how it plays through the week since the 1st is a big day but #1 ghibli is a lock.

Today looks really busy again to me, I think it will do 600k+.

The Boy and The Heron

€843.325 / 107.898 admits OD including Previews!

If Numbers hold then within 2-3 Days, Italy will be bigger than Spain (€1.4M / 208K admits)

I see the others were lucky, me and my friends had to pay 11 euros...

In any case it should play without problems at least for a full week if not two

A little off, but close enough I suppose. 583k day 2 for Heron.
