  1. Why are Godzilla Minus One's late legs so good? Is it just due to Western hype and awards?
  2. Does Ramadan have a significant negative impact on the box office?
  3. Thank you for such a detailed post. The USA/Canada market also used to have exclusive runs for big theaters but Japan looks like it was on an entirely different level.
  4. Is there a list of the biggest Mongolian opening weekends?
  5. Cabrini has a Buy 1 Get 1 Free offer on Fandango. The deal expires on April 30th so maybe it can give the film a nice boost.
  6. FYI there is an extremely high chance that they are just repeating what @ThatWaluigiDude posted in the Brazil tracking thread 3 hours before they tweeted. Here is what was posted in the Brazil tracking thread: "The first 24 hours of pre-sales of Dune 2 are just a little above those from The Flash. That is decent actually, given that The Flash opened with R$16M+ and the first Dune opened with "only" R$5M."
  7. https://www.reddit.com/r/boxoffice/s/0RrE4xYdW7 How big are we expecting Dune's Early Access sales compared to Thursday previews?
  8. Thank you for your analysis. It is interesting. Do you think the setting and overall theme will harm the movie overseas compared to if it had a less America-focused narrative?
  9. It's even more impressive when you consider that Wednesday + Thursday previews ($2.1M) made up 44% of the opening day ($4.726M). Considering how it was competing with Renaissance for PLF showings, it might have opened closer to $10M if showings started at 7 PM on Thursday (same time as Renaissance). The -1.6% 2nd Saturday drop was incredible.
  10. Personally, I would put Cheburashka at #1. It is easily the most attended film in Russia since 2004 (23.6M admissions versus Avatar's 14.3M). 12.12: The Day, SMBM, and C'è Ancora Domani won't be even the most attended films in their markets from 2019-2023.
  11. At least in the United States, Taylor Swift has songs which are as big, if not bigger, than Rihannas hit songs. If you look at the RIAA certifications Umbrella + Diamonds have a combined 15x platinum while You Belong with Me + Love Story also have 15x platinum.
  12. You don't even have to look at the most successful sequels post-COVID. Only 5 out of the 22 sequels that passed $400M WW since March 2020 had less than a 4 year gap and only 2 of them (John Wick Chapter 4 and Fast X) came out after April 2022. John Wick Chapter 4 had a 46 month gap so it was basically a 4 year gap.
