I think they've got dailies going back about 15 years, but it might not be complete even that far. (Some films have earlier dailies, but it's not comprehensive.)

And in most of these cases, you'd probably see a relatively large Midnight sneak audience. VMars got about 25%, but I know there's some (Twilight, Harry Potter), that get an incredibly large percentage of the Friday gross at Midnight.

for Overnight tracking theres dailies back to early 80's perhaps even 70's,

for studio Reported dailies around Dec85 a few studios started reporting, Jan 86 few more Mar 86 most but still only majors , now Sony or Columbia/Tristar as was know then Columbia product didn't start till around May 86 Tristar product wasn't till like about 1989, outside majors studios years later before anything.

Now even though the SRG daily data is available, taking Fox as example it would only report dailies about first 5 weeks max then weekend/week, some others some titles they wouldn't and some once they started taking low numbers they stopped issuing dailies, so pretty much  you didn't get much outside of top 15/20(which would never include non-majors titles).

ATM of hand couldnt say when it became standard across the board.

the above was only available to orgs subscribing to get say a Daily BO report

Here's Top gun week 1 from May 86 (Par reported dailes for 29 of its 46 wk reported run, so even though in like week 33 it was still taking over 1m no dailies). BOM only has first 30 weekends
