The Muppets will still do around 18M OW. Not bad. Disney should have gone for a different release date.

Solid for Divergent.

18 M and what total? 60 M? That's more than a 20 M decrease from the first. Are overseas numbers good?

It should be better than the first one at least in Europe. However, The Muppets don't rely entirely on box office anyway so they'll be more than fine regardless.

Sad about the Muppets; hopefully the BO doesn't kill them as a franchise. I wouldn't mind another movie, but I'd much rather have a show

Nah, it won't die because of a relative underperformance. It's too big a brand with the songs, toys, other merchandise and all the older movies and TV specials that all get a boost just from releasing a new movie. Muppets were never huge at the box office with only the first movie earning more than 100M adjusted.

Divergent is still on track to make around $54M this weekend for Summit while Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted is much softer than expected and is now looking at below $18M for the 3-day gross. It seems the 20 year-olds are not paying attention to the critics. As mentioned below, it had an A CinemaScore received an A+ for the under 18 demo.  The audience, according to Summit, was 59% female and 41% male equally over and under 25.
