filmlover
My thoughts from seeing on opening night two years ago: An often uproarious comedy that also offers some honest observations about the transitions we make as we move from one phase of our lives to the next (themes that I'm currently facing myself). Seth Rogen (who I have really warmed up to in recent years) gives one of his better performances while Zac Efron plays the party animal frat leader with a sort of endearing Peter Pan-like quality, while Rose Byrne (can she please be a star now?) gets to participate in some of silliness unlike most female characters in movies like this. Not the next comedy classic, and a lot of it doesn't make any sense, but Nicholas Stoller's latest does the rare feat of sustaining momentum throughout and avoids wearing out its welcome.
