Would Django Unchained actually count since it's technically Tarantino riffing on the Django spaghetti westerns?

Pirates is a ride, how to train your dragon is a book series and frozen is the snow queen.honestly, I don't think we're gonna get a very impressive list here.

Try looking through boxoffice mojo and you will find some.If we have to I will open this up to novel adaptions but there are more than you think there are.

Pirates and Frozen are more 'inspired' by their sources then based off them.

 

Pirates I'd definitely consider original and Frozen is on the line.
