okay, it's fine and entertaining, but these noirs continue to baffle me in their reputation.

The plot tripping all over itself prevented me from caring about anything that happened, but it was still a lot of fun simply watching Bogart and Bacall (and all the other dames) just do their thing. Don't have any desire to return to it, though. If I need my Bogart noir fix I'll just go back to The Maltese Falcon or In a Lonely Place.

Shaky B grade. Can't touch noirs like Third Man, Laura, M, Double Indemnity, etc.

Completely incomprehensible plot, but it's all about the atmosphere and the Bogart-Bacall chemistry.

I admit that I had a hard time watching it . As a bogart fanatic I must admit that Robert Mitchum is a far better Philip Marlowe .
