BK007
Given that they make at least once a week these days, and everyone seems to find one in the daily/weekend threads, I thought it might be better if we kept a catalogue of what mistakes they have made and what they have then corrected or ignored. One day, it might be in better hands, as currently they do not bother to correct anything, and then we can get the new moderator to correct these build up of mistakes. My goal here is for it to remain as accurate as it once was, otherwise, what's the point of a shitload of data if you don't know what has been compromised? 1. 8/7 The Gift theatre count listed incorrectly as 1,648 and therefore PTA incorrectly at $7,193. (fixed) 2. 8/4 Self/Less July 31-2nd weekend increase incorrectly calculated as +209.3% (fixed) 3. 7/28 Self/Less July 24-26th weekend total $314k estimate became $31,140 actual. (fixed) 4. 6/14 Spy theatre count for June 14-18th reported at 3,175 instead of 3,715. (fixed) Theatre Count page still messed up for week 3 5. 5/25 Age of Adaline weekend estimates at $15m instead of $1.5m Showdowns that have more than 6 movies included and do not show: 1. Dwayne Johnson (San Andreas) 2. Pixar Originals (Inside Out) Pages 1. When using the Studios option you are unable to change the yearly gross results as all results link to current year only. Your help is much appreciated. Reminder: This thread is not to talk shit about how bad BOM have become or how awful the writing is. It is ONLY for reporting of mistakes in data or broken website links. Edited September 23, 2015 by BK007
Rorschach
In the Year to date comparisons, under 2015, it has AoU at 56 million instead of 456 million so now it looks like 2015 is the lowest grossing year of the 2010s.
Rorschach
Oh never mind, they fixed it. Thank God.
Accursed Arachnid!™
While I appreciate your purported intention of this thread and that you have requested this not become a BOM gripe thread, calling Simanton "Simpleton" is completely at odds with that request. To me, this still comes off as a BOM "shit talking" thread.

The other thread is too unwieldy to be able to get any information out of it considering it encapsulates so many points of discussion.
Accursed Arachnid!™
I will add that many pages go 503 and I have to refresh them at least once to get them to show. Been doing that for me for months now, even before Ray left.

lab276
These are some of the ones I've noticed over the years browsing BOM. Perhaps it's a bit sad that I remember all this. I don't do this out of spite. January 1982, many, most egregious being Raiders http://www.boxofficemojo.com/monthly/?view=calendargross&yr=1982&month=1 Also quarterly and yearly http://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?view=calendargross&view2=domestic&yr=1982&p=.htm http://www.boxofficemojo.com/quarterly/?view=calendargross&yr=1982&quarter=Q1 The Lion King, weekly box office from November 25-December 1 1994, actually it's 24th week http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekly&id=lionking.htm The Sixth Sense mixed up weeks 4 and 5. This also appears on the daily chart http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekly&id=sixthsense.htm January 2000, Fantasia 2000 (IMAX) and (35mm) as opposed to Fantasia 2000 (35mm +IMAX) which should be the only one listed http://www.boxofficemojo.com/monthly/?view=calendargross&yr=2000&month=1 Also quarterly and yearly http://www.boxofficemojo.com/quarterly/?view=calendargross&yr=2000&quarter=Q1 http://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?view=calendargross&view2=domestic&yr=2000&p=.htm November 17-23 2000, Mysteries of Egypt http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekly/chart/?yr=2000&wk=46&p=.htm May 2002, The Next Best Thing http://www.boxofficemojo.com/monthly/?page=2&view=calendargross&yr=2002&month=05&p=.htm Also weekend May 31-June 2, 2002 http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/?yr=2002&wknd=22&p=.htm August 2-8 2002, Cyberworld http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekly/chart/?yr=2002&wk=31&p=.htm Also affects the Monthly charts for July and August http://www.boxofficemojo.com/monthly/?page=2&view=calendargross&yr=2002&month=07&p=.htm http://www.boxofficemojo.com/monthly/?view=calendargross&chart=&month=8&yr=2002 Austin Powers Goldmember weeks 6 and 7 http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekly&id=austinpowers3.htm December 12-18 2003, Spy Kids 3D: Game Over http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekly/chart/?view=&yr=2003&wk=50&p=.htm With the years: 1982, 83, 88, 99, 00, 05 and 11, when you click onto a weekly or weekend chart from any film in that year, it jumps one week ahead of the one you clicked, so for example Phantom Menace, click on May 14-20, it takes you to May 21-27. The next time this will happen will be either 2016 or 2022. For 1994, it jumps two weeks ahead. I don't think any of these errors will ever be fixed (because they're so old), and that jumping ahead for certain years I don't think can be fixed. BK007
I'd appreciate it, just so we set the right tone from the get-go. Fixed as requested. lab, wow that's an impressive memory. Did you ever message Subers? I did a couple times for various mess ups and he did correct them back then.

BK007
Every weekend you seem to be able to find a mistake on the estimates to actuals page. Paulette estimate $8,000 actual $8,820 but BOM dropped the 0 so it's $882 and a drop of 89% from estimates. These are the obvious ones of course. I'm positive there are many films with switched digits.
lab276
Not a mistake exactly, but it was over a month ago that the 2nd quarter average ticket price was released, and BOM still hasn't been updated with it.
TServo2049
I actually am somewhat glad of that, with the way their adjusting works (with the price in the *quarter* a film was released as the base price), it would have totally screwed up any April-June releases by deflating their grosses in the adjuster. (Especially since this year's Q2 average was so high.) I'm sure they will get around to it by the time the year-end average releases in January. BK007
Perhaps I have not been perusing their dailies as a hawk for the last couple weeks to notice any errors but they have struck again. For the 6th of September: A Walk in the Woods daily is listed as N/A For the 7th of September: Hitman: Agent 47's daily gross is listed as $218,801 and a -74.2% drop from Sunday. BO.com lists its Monday gross as $618,801 The second number is really worrying for anyone who wants to use the site for accuracy purposes. How do you change a 6 into a 2? And I only noticed it because why would any film drop nearly 75% on a holiday? There could be loads and loads of tiny errors.
TServo2049
Well, with this new Brad guy in charge, maybe those mistakes will get corrected faster. Maybe try contacting them again? The Hitman one actually messes up the total - though I notice that when a daily number messes up the total, that number usually gets fixed when the next actual comes in. We can only hope it happens this time. With A Walk in the Woods, they don't have daily actuals for Fri-Sat either. Broad Green could be one of those distributors like A24 where they can't consistently get daily actuals. Friday and Saturday still are marked as 'estimates' at BOM, do not appear at all at e.g. The-Numbers before Monday... I prefer in this case BOM style, at least you see something is missing - A WALK IN THE WOODS Broad Green Pictures - $2,206,000 (estimate) +147.9% / $1,126 $4,265,000 / 3 $3,022,000 (estimate) +37% / $1,542 $7,287,000 / 4 N/A $2,662,565 -- / $1,358 $12,806,684 / 6 If you look at BO.com's daylies list per movie then you'l see something is amiss, if you chack the continouity of the dates Date Daily Gross Sep 07, 2015 $2,662,565 Sep 03, 2015 $807,852 Sep 02, 2015 $1,090,000 At The-Numbers the estimated datas are still green, but without knowing their system that might too be missed Date Rank Gross % Change Theaters Per Theater Total Gross Days 2015/09/02 1 $1,169,000 1,849 $632 $1,169,000 1 2015/09/03 3 $807,852 -31% 1,849 $437 $1,897,852 2 2015/09/04 4 $2,193,000 +171% 1,849 $1,186 $4,090,852 3 2015/09/07 2 $2,662,565 1,960 $1,358 $12,806,684 6 What annoys me at BOM is their slow speed with international updates and, if they finally update, they usually miss movies already out for a time (aka actual not a wide release anymore)

TServo2049
I don't believe it. With Brad Brevet now in charge, I pointed out some errors in a post on the Facebook page, and they got corrected within hours. He didn't even wait for when they did the next daily update. He didn't specifically respond to my posts, but it is clear that if you point out errors to him, he will fix them. Just a couple hours ago, I posted about the erroneous weekend 3 number for Self/Less, a mistake from almost 2 months ago, and it is now fixed. ALL HAIL BRAD, LORD AND SAVIOR OF BOXOFFICEMOJO.
