Classic, great adventure tale, based (of course) on a true story. Probably a bit slow for the ADHD crowd, but there's a nice build up and the characters are well-drawn. And the cast, of course, is absolutely stellar.

Watched it for the first time I few days ago, and it's great. Even Peck was tolerable here.

Too bad no one talks about it anymore, I would have never hear about this film if it wasn't for my blind buy obsession. 85/100

Watched it during one of its many reruns in the 70s as a kid. Fantastic for a movie made in 1961. Gregory Peck, David Niven and Anthony Quinn are superb. One of my all-time favorite movies.

 

This along with movies like The Great Escape, Mckenna's Gold, Where Eagles Dare defined my childhood moviegoing habits. Have watched it tens of times since the 70s.

Really wonderful war movie. I usually don't like war movies but this one was very good.
