Guillermo Del Toro’s Crimson Peak opened day-and-date with North America in 55 territories this weekend, earning $13.4 million from the overseas box office. Combined with NA’s opening, the gothic thriller took in $26.25 million worldwide. Top openings include Russia ($2.5M), UK/Ireland ($1.5M), Spain ($1.1M), Germany ($864K), France ($813K), Australia ($608K), Brazil ($450K), Taiwan ($398K), and Argentina ($384K). The film earned $1 million from 175 overseas IMAX screens. Crimson Peak opens in Belgium, Greece, Israel, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Trinidad next weekend.

Crimson Peak grossed an estimated $7.8 million from 62 overseas territories this weekend, raising the international total to $26.4 million and the global haul to $48.9 million. Italy was the top opener with $892K on 285 screens with Portugal following with $127K on 63 screens. The top holdover was Russia with $991K for an 11-day total of $4.3 million. Director Guillermo Del Toro’s home country Mexico opens next weekend.

Crimson Peak is slowing down at the international box office, eking out just $2.5 million from 64 territories. Guillermo Del Toro’s gothic thriller has now earned $39.7 million overseas and $69.6 million worldwide. Peru opened with an estimate $93K from 56 screens. South Korea (November 26) and Japan (January 23) are the final territories to open.

CRIMSON PEAK
Legendary’s Guillermo del Toro horror drama added $1.1M in 44 territories to bring the offshore total to $41.5M. With no new openings this frame, Mexico was the top holdover at No. 3 behind Spectre and The Little Prince’s opening. The total there is $5.1M. The final two releases are: Korea Nov. 26 and Japan Jan. 23, 2016.
