cookie
@CayomMagazine We're hearing Francis Lawrence is no longer set to direct the third installment in the Scavenger Wars series but has rather moved over to a different gig at the studio, set for release the same year (Y7). Our sources cannot confirm what it is or who's replacing him.

Ezen Baklattan
@CayomMagazine UNION OF THIEVES will be the first chapter of the five-part EPSILON SYNDICATE series. Each will be a standalone adventure with a unique style, adventure, and other fun flairs. However, there will be plot threads that connect toward an exciting and badass final chapter. 1

YM!
@cayommagazine Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) has signed on to write and direct an adaptation for Static Shock for Endless Entertainment as Endless thinks there’s a strong possibility that either it, God of War III and High School Musical East vs West make it into Y5.
cookie
@CayomMagazine Cookie Pictures CEO Sebastian Peters talked a little bit today about what can be expected from the studio in Year 6. Peters said the main priority in Y6 is to "finish what we couldn't in Y5" and wants to emphasize launching two new fantasy franchises for the studio - DragonBorns and The Scandinavia Chronicles - before Zelda joins the Cookie Pictures portfolio in Year 7. Peters describes Scandinavia as a "weird but fun adventure" that takes full advantage of its setting and mythology, and says the aim is for a Holiday release. DragonBorns meanwhile is aiming for summer. Scandinavia has already been announced as part of a trilogy. Ezen Baklattan
@CayomMagazine Boots Riley (Sorry to Bother You) takes on social media, the alt-right, and tokenism in his Y6 comedy/sci-fi/romance/psychological horror Bridgette/Teyonnah. YM!
@cayommagazine Niles Finch (This is Us) cast as Virgil Hawkins aka the superhero known as Static as more plot details are said to arise sometime tonight but we have heard from Famuyiwa says the film although lighthearted and very much a coming of age story ala Spider-Man: Homecoming or the upcoming Shazam, plans on tackling gang violence, discrimination and racism.

It'll be maybe the most challenging role for a female lead I write to date, but also the most exciting. A BETTER MAN is likely getting scrapped and having some ideas roll into it.

No, PARADISE ISLAND is with Allura. But since I'll already have Lane and Wright as big actress contenders for Y6, it could get pushed back again. (Also my lesbian interdimensional comedy still has Allura and Elizabeth Debicki) And thanks!

cookie
@CayomMagazine Cookie Pictures confirms that Heart's Song will be their big animated release of Y6, now described as "an explosive rock and pop musical in the vein of Scott Pilgrim meets A Star is Born". The premise, cast and crew will remain the same as previously announced, but the production budget has been upped from an estimated to $100 million to $150 million as the film will incorporate both traditional 2D animation and 3D CGI for its musical numbers. A title change is expected to reflect this more ambitious direction but it hasn't been decided upon yet. The film will target a Holiday Y6 release. Sources also confirm that The Scavenger Wars' Naomi Scott will voice a bitchy pop diva who comes into conflict with Athena's band. She joins Anthony Ramos, Taissa Farmiga, Benjamin Bratt, Idina Menzel, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Holly Taylor, Diego Boneta, Vince Staples, Kimiko Gleen and Bradley Cooper in the main cast.
