Following the completion of The Scavenger Wars Part II, which has been seen as a ”huge relief” for Cookie Pictures, the studio is now staking out a Q1 Y7 and Q4 Y8 releases for the third and fourth installments in the series. It is not yet decided upon if series helmers Matt & Ross Duffer will return to helm either project but the studio is looking for new talent behind the camera for one of them.

Shortlisted directors for one or both films are said to be the previously departed Cataclysmic helmer Francis LawrenceThe Human Revolution’s David Leitch, Mass Effect’s Matt Shankman and Spark: Beyond the Sky’s Jennifer Yuh.

Shakman, no "n".

Also Q1 Y7 is gonna get interesting.

There they meet the kind hearted and regal ruler Princess Peach (Idina Menzel) (whom Mario falls for) as well as her cousin, the feisty and tomboyish Princess Daisy (Zoe Kravitz), who is distrusting towards the outsiders. However upon their stay, the brother learn of the tyrannical and bombastic turtle like Koopa King Bowser (Liev Schreiber) who was been conquering worlds kidnaps Peach, throwing the kingdom into utter chaos. The film like Can You Imagine and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl plans to tackle a bigger issue that viewers can digest, choosing immigration which Irving loved being a first generation American understood the importance of it especially at times where immigrants are being unfairly treated and especially dehumanized under a current agenda. It’s entirely possible I’ll hold it until Q2 instead so I can have a 1 1/2 year gap between films, so Pillars shouldn’t worry too much right now.

Description for songs in here:

1.

This is performed very Belle with Olive walking through Town, hyped for Christmas. However, unlike in Belle, the rest of the town is hyped for Christmas or whatever holiday they're celebrating this Christmas season. Thus, the song is extended from the original special version to add a few verses about the other chorus members excited for other holidays and of course, the famed turkey still celebrating Thanksgiving. It ends with a massive choreographed dance with people following Olive to the front of Town's zoo where Martini stands selling watches.

2.

This is essentially delivered like the video above, complete with the surreal settings coming into play. Near the end, a coalition of postal workers dances behind the Postman in a very West Side Story gang way, but at the end of the song, they all leave because they have families to spend Christmas with.

3. Reference song:

Yup, it's a patter song! Naturally, everyone believes in the cute dog so the Postman convinces the people at the bus station through fast-talking and overly clever rhymes and alliteration. Olive and Martini have some quick defenses in the lyrics but the Postman rebuts them through explaining how mail fraud can be put forward even just by licking self-adhesive stamps or forgetting to mail early for the holidays.

 4. Reference song:

This is a sad song (and also one contractually obligated by Drew Barrymore). The length of it is around 90 seconds and it talks about her character when she was younger being alone on Christmas and how she must spend Christmas with her family. It also serves as a cry to arms for Tim to go after Olive and save her friendship with him.

 5. Reference songs:

This is a seven-minute number and easily the biggest production number of the movie. Imagine something where the general tone matches You're Welcome, the Martini solos about his family match A Cover is Not the Book, but the main verse is like Sincerely Me. The features several dancers in the restaurant and includes, yes, a tap number for Martini, in which he comments the stereotype of tap-dancing penguins and Olive and Richard join him halfway through the tap solo. The Postman has a brief part as the Waitress, so yes, a ridiculous falsetto, where he tries to take their order mid-dance but they're too busy singing about Martini's awesome family so he says he'll come back later. At the end of the number, everyone in the restaurant follows Martini, Olive and Richard's lead for a silly choreographed Penguin-y dance, all over-hyped for the Penguin Family Reunion.

6. Reference songs:

Okay, hear me out. This starts kinda sad with a verse from Tim that despairs about Olive, but then goes to a quick peptalk from the TSA agent. It then jumps into a crazy rock opera with synths led by Fido to cheer up Tim about finding Olive and then they drive home, with them slowly growing more and more determined about saving Olive. Dog Catcher raps and really, it's just an insane number that's framed as a car chase where the cars swerve (or "dance") to the Queen-esque backing to the song. It has the urgency and instrumentation in the vein of the Pippin song. The cops even get involved at one point, but once listening to the song, they go on Tim's side on how they need to save Olive! The song really is a happy medium between the two reference songs in style.

7. Reference song:

This is essentially the "I Want" song of the whole movie; emotionally the crux of the movie, proving how much Olive desires the perfect Christmas. The deep sincerity is a necessity along with the slow build. That said, it doesn't end nearly as big as How Far I'll Go, instead finishing off on a final verse about how no matter the adversity faced, Olive will love Christmas and it shan't lose in her heart.

8.

This song in film is definitely longer than 1:20, but basically expect more of a dance break than added stuff. This is a number that's required to return the film to the upbeat mood after Olive and Martini's angsty nature. Brian Tyree Henry's bunny never joins the dance though, just growing more and more annoyed by the event around him.

9. Reference song:

Okay, this is weird. The comical nature of this number should only come from it being LeBron and MBJ singing it. They play it entirely sincere and it's meant to be a sweet moment since after all, Tim's older brother just gave a helicopter. Merry Christmas. There's not much of a dance here; it's merely a sweet moment between brothers.

10.

As you can tell, in the special, there's no Martini or the Postman. So to extend the song, they both get verses about how Olive saved their Christmases while also joining Santa and the reindeer in the chorus parts. It's nice. Note that in the video, the cameos sing at the end, but they would not sing in this version of the film.

11. See #1, but this time, literally the entire cast gets a solo within the song, ending of course, on Olive.

The orchestrated tracks take a cue from the Doo doos in "Days Remaining Till Christmas" but also have their own whimsical vibe, with clear themes for Olive, Martini, the Postman, Tim, and Santa Claus.

When I tried to do this film back in Y3/4 my pick was Saoirse Ronan, but I'm looking for different picks.
