YM!
@cayommagazine Endless Animation bringing back the shorts. That is right folks, Endless Animation is developing 4 shorts for Y6 to be attached to Endless Animation and Endless Entertainment films. Again tells the story of a cartoon character dubbed Wacky Weazel who finds out he’s just a cartoon as he goes through a funny and existential crisis. Again will be entirely traditional animated and emulates Looney Tunes in terms of design. Again will be attached to The Music In Me. Can You Imagine? The Romance brings us back to the Anderson family but focuses on everyone’s favorite kid artist, Ethan as he, Sasha and their classmates try to hook up their teachers with a date to avoid a pop quiz through creative valentines. Can You Imagine? The Romance will be attached to Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive 2 The Lake entrances and ensnares us as we tell the story of a mermaid who is trying to reunite with her family after a young girl fishes her and thinks the mermaid is her pet. The Lake will be attached to Super Mario Bros and uses Paperman style animation. A Macabre Christmas tells the story of a lonely ghost on Christmas as she tries to spread cheer through out a town that has lost passion well as be stop-motion animated much like Clayboy in Y3, as A Macabre Christmas will be attached to The Adventures Of Tintin: Prisoners of The Sun. cookie
'Voltron', 'Scrooge' to end after five films each Rian Johnson to direct a full 'Voltron' trilogy to cap off the series, 'A Crackle in Time' to be the beginning of McDuck's endgame "As a studio, it's important for us to have a check on what we can manage on a yearly basis or not", Cookie Pictures CEO and Sebastian Peters spoke at a press conference where this announcement was made. "Both series have been with us since our inception, but after long deliberation and a lot of internal talks, we decided we couldn't keep going on either forever, not if we want to establish our own voice with series like The Scavenger Wars and the upcoming DragonBorns at the same time - plus commitment to established properties new to us like Zelda. Therefore, we decided to put a stamp on what should be the closing chapters for either saga." "It's been a fairly exhausting process keeping both franchises going at this stage, if we're being frank", Peters continued. "Everyone at Cookie Pictures are obviously proud of the work they've put in, but we realized as issues started to pile up with the third Voltron and Scrooge McDuck entries that we could not keep going forever, and so we laid out a plan to wrap it up in a way that would be satisfying not just for us but for the audience that have followed these stories." Rian Johnson, director of 'Looper', 'Psyren' and the upcoming 'Voltron' trilogy After Year 7's Voltron: Rift, the saga will have one more film before closing the curtain on the team of Paladins and their cinematic story arc. Due to this, Rian Johnson has been approached to direct the final installment as well, turning his commitment to the series into a full trilogy. "We're giving Rian as much reign as Lager Pictures gave Matt Reeves with the Odyssey trilogy on this one", Peters spoke of the director which he is a huge admirer of. "Rian has the ability to deliver engaging storytelling that surprises you at every turn. If anyone is going to make Voltron continue to be fresh and exciting until its last bout, it would be him." Similar principle goes for the Scrooge McDuck series which is now confirmed to close up shop after a final chapter following also Y7's A Crackle in Time. "We think of Time and its follow-up as the Beyond the Sky and A Hero's Promise of CAYOM animated features", Peters described. "The scale is going to be massive, everyone from the two previous films are going to be back, and the story is so large it will not be told in one movie. It's going to be an adventure for the ages." Thus the official Scrooge McDuck continuity will look like this: The Argonaut of White Agony Creek (0.5) -> The Adventures of Scrooge McDuck (1) -> The Number One Dime (2) -> A Crackle in Time (3) -> Scrooge 4 During the conference, Peters also unveiled the full cast of A Crackle in Time, to be directed by Gravity Falls and Over the Garden Wall's Patrick McHale: Spoiler David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz and Bobby Moinihan as Huey, Dewey and Louie Cate Blanchett as Magica De Spell Keith Ferguson as Flintheart Glomgold Benicio Del Toro as El Capitán Eric Bauza as The Beagle Boys Winston Duke as Tsotsi Beagle Jim Rash as Gyro Gearloose Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack Jenny Slate as Maya Bryan Cranston as Master Cornelius Zoe Kazan as Goldie O'Gilt (first introduced in Argonaut) and introducing Morena Baccarin as Daisy Duck and Benedict Cumberbatch as Merlock Peters let the cat out of the bag that the Sherlock actor will voice the main antagonist Merlock in A Crackle in Time and Scrooge 4. First introduced as a smoke cloud voiced by Robert Englund in The Number One Dime, Merlock is a re-imagined version of the antagonist from the 1990 film DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp, described by Peters in this new take as "Bill Cipher crossed with Thanos". "Magica De Spell has become Merlock's disciple so they can both escape the Eternal Chasm and have their revenge on the world at large once and for all, with Magica determined to finally defeat Scrooge. Merlock basically has the powers of a god and can distort reality itself if he so pleases, hence why Crackle will include its fair share of time and reality hopping first introduced in Dime." Peters added that while the fifth Scrooge film will be end of the character's story line, the universe itself is likely to keep going. "We still haven't gone forward with the likes of Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers or TaleSpin, and I think the DuckVerse post Scrooge 4 is going to be much more focused on those aspects." As for when we can expect either Voltron 5 or Scrooge 4, Peters wants to see how Rift or A Crackle in Time turn out before the studio decides on an exact timetable. "If both Rift and Crackle are released in Y7 and the enthusiasm is high, maybe as early as Y8 for both, if not then likely Y9. If need to be we'll put some of our other concurrent series on temporary hiatus in order to put all our resources into each respective finale, and we do intend to conclude both sagas within this decade, but exactly when is still up in the air." A couple of these films are said to be looking at more adult demographics than most animated offerings in the CAYOMverse
