John Marston
Still wish it did better. Long gap and crappy domestic release date hurt it I guess

France opens snext week and that's been a good market for Maze Runner didn't know it has France left (and maybe other markets?). with that 250 ww seems very likely. usually adding 2x the weekend is not a big ask especially if it has a major market or more to go. don't know how much BP will affect MZ3 but 2x the weekend more os gives it 143 + 70 = 213 os. dom it had a 10.2m weekend but was dented by SB so could add 2-2.5x more for 40 + 20-25 = 60-65 dom that gives 213 + 62.5 = 275+ ww

MR:DC will open in 4 markets next weekend including France. It opened in Mexico and Germany this weekend. That helped with the very good drop from last weekend.

Wally
Although I am happy for Dylan O'Brien that the movie did well bo-wise, I did think that the movie itself is quite dull. The first one is the only re-watchable movie in the franchise.

John Marston
180m overseas. 229m worldwide 21.4% + Foreign: $180,169,086 78.6% = Worldwide: $229,187,215
John Marston
"Fox’s Wes Ball-helmed threequel rounded $180.1M internationally this session, adding $23.5M from 19,858 screens in 80 markets. France, generally the top hub for the Dylan O’Brien-starring series, picked up $5.65M on 591 screens for No. 3 behind Mr & Mrs Grey and local pic Les Tuches 3. China in its 3rd frame took another $3.2M amid stiff competition and as the Lunar New Year movies begin to line up for next weekend. Although its race is coming to an end, The Death Cure has grossed $44.3M in the Middle Kingdom, topping Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Holds in Germany, Spain and Belgium were solid. In the growing Indonesian market, Death Cure is 35% bigger than Scorch Trialswith $5.7M to date."
a2k
It's on 50m dom after a 6m weekend. So 62-63 seems reasonable. Had a 23.5 os weekend so 45-50 more gives 225-230 os. 62.5 + 227.5 = 290 ww...hoping it does 300+ ww but BP opening everywhere might hurt late legs. At leas dom has a 4-day weekend and VD Sunday to cushion the blow.
John Marston
Wish it had opened in France earlier. Had to deal with Fifty Shades, a local film, 1517 to Paris, and bad weather

The series finished with dignity.

That takes it to 271.7 + 14.3 + 2 = 288 With these numbers MZ3 would need only around 2 usd there for 290 (MZ2 did 3.4 in Japan)
Blaze Heatnix
I guess 300 million worldwide won't happen anymore, but the trilogy got a good ending and it managed to conclude the plot with dignity.
John Marston
MAZE RUNNER: THE DEATH CUREAnother $7.1M in 65 markets takes Fox’s threequel to $215.4M overseas. France had a great hold, rising 5% to cume $16.8M to date. France is generally the lead market outside China on this franchise which still has Japan to come way down the line in June.
