Haven't seen it yet but by all accounts it's got a good deal of that PTA idiosyncrasy under the tasteful period piece exterior

I just saw it, and at least half of my audience didn't like it. Someone even walked out half an hour into the movie. The ~70% audience score isn't surprising at all.

My theater was full of well behaved adults that sat through the full thing and seemed to like the film.  Definitely just seems like a Florida thing

Didn't happen at my showing. :redcapes:

But yeah, I'm not surprised Phantom Thread hasn't really caught on despite the Oscar attention. $19-20M is fine for it though, if still a long way from profitability.

Tickets sold today at my theater (* detonates reduced showtimes):

Showman: 54

Hostiles: 53

Maze Runner: 51

Winchester: 45

Jumanji: 39 (32 2D/7 3D)

The Post: 34

Shape of Water: 33*

12 Strong: 33

Phantom Thread: 22

Den of Thieves: 18

Three Billboards: 18*

I, Tonya: 17

Forever My Girl: 13*

Coco: 8*

The parking lot accurately represented crowds today  My theater will dump Phantom Thread and I, Tonya in a heartbeat this weekend if they can (I'm expecting Tonya to go because Neon doesn't have as much bargaining power as Focus). The Post is slowing down big time too; my showing last Monday sold more tickets than it sold in its entirety today.
