CAYOM Year 3: Discussion

I think it has more in common with Notes From The Otherspace.

Playing it as a teen comedy may be pretty fun, and it can give it a more comedic edge to it.

That was the angle I was going for. I wanted to do a family hybrid film but I didn’t want “insert 80s/90s Toon in our world”. Odds are it’d get a hard PG or PG-13.

So Scavenger Wars is becoming so dense that I'm writing down an entire extended plot summary just to make sure everything makes sense. Just the summation of the first act is over half a page long.

It's my most anticipated of the year.

Scavenger Wars over Homeward box office?

Stop pressuring me.

The second act is longer than the first but thankfully less exposition heavy. Onto the third act.

WW maybe. Domestic Spark should have a decent OW headstart but I suppose it's possible.  Granted suppose we need to see how both films turn out first

For what it’s worth, I think Scavenger Wars can outgross Spark 1, but Spark 2 May be tricky. Here’s what I’m predicting:

SH: 155m/420m/1.08b

TSW: 110m/380m/975m

Truth be told, Rise of Lotor helped give me unreasonable predictions for Spark 2. :P I think a Pirates 2 increase out of a predecessor with similar WOM is reasonable.

I can also see PoE outgross it.

And yes I expect that TSW will be better than Spark 2. :redcapes:

To be honest I have been thinking:

Pre-preread

SH: $200M/$455M/$1.25B

TSW: $125M/$350M/$1.02B

After SH rough draft:

SH: $140M/$390M/$1.1B

TSW: $135M/$400M/$1.12B

Now:

I think Homeward will debut in the $145M-$170M Range but it’s legs will be hurt by the CTE, GOW, and HM2 bombardment in May. TSW has big potential and @cookie has a lot riding on it but I smell a breakout. Thinking $120M-$130M due to hype and legs is up to our reception and audiences.

Also way too early top 10 guesses:

1.) Homeward: $165M/$420M

2.) Number One Dime: $100M/$415M

3.) Scavenger Wars: $130M/$400M

4.) Odyssey II: $125M/$385M

5.) Prince of Egypt: $100M/$350M

6.) CTE: $90M/$300M

7.) Metroid: $100M (5 Day)/$270M

8.) Star Fox: $75M/$265M

9.) Lilo and Stitch: $70M/$255M

10.) Cataclysmic: $85M/$250M

Splatoon, Second Dimension, Celestial Voyage, My Peoples and maybe Bartimaeus are the next best guesses for $200M+. Howling Commandos, Blue Dolphins, Street Sharks, He Man 2, Doom and God of War should do in between $150M-$175M. Pigeon (due to it’s year long marketing with Bandicoot) and SKTVS are Dark horses as well. Battletoads, BAF3, Doom, EDF should be in that $100M-$130M area.

You frighten me more than anyone else.

This is true. Aside from the usual review threat, there is always the possibility of a surprise Numbers film bomb dropped onto the calendar.

Finally really getting into work on Cataclysmic. I'm personally quite happy with what I have so far. It's probably going to be the Y3 movie I put the most effort into by a significant margin. Definitely hoping to outgross The Towering Inferno.
