Sure, JW2 appeals to families, sure, it's a four-quadrant movie too, and sure, I2 was technically an action blockbuster as well, but it is not a full-on family movie (especially an animated one) by definition and construction, like I2. Plain and simple. Therefore, I would really not call it actual direct competition. I don't agree with this... I2 played to the superhero audience. It doesn't break out and have legs more like an adored superhero film than that of an adored Pixar film if it didn't largely play like a loved MCU movie. Peter Rabbit is a silly comparison given it's box office pales compared to Jurassic, Incredible and Black Panther. They're all enormous earners.
