It seems more of a re-origin considering it undoes what Snyder did (i.e. gives him an outfit that more closely matches the comic book and a trident that is actually a trident).

Black Panther in Civil War is the same thing then.

So it seems that Wonder Woman and Venom are the only solo character origin stories to make more than Spider-Man.

WW was in BvS. And Venom was in SM3 (though not as Tom Hardy). So by that logic, SM is still the king.

Regardless of previous appearances as established characters in team-up films , the characters got their solo origins told in their solo films, so yeah... Wonder Woman, Black Panther, and Aquaman are all solo origin superhero films.

Hopefully Spiderverse edges out BB for the weekend despite losing over 300 theaters while BB got 40 more (WTF? demand isn't big).

Wonder Woman is origin because the movie is literally about how Diana became Wonder Woman.
