Twisters

7/23 Dolby Atmos

Sold Out.

Trailers:

Wicked

It Ends With Us

Trap

Bettlejuice Bettlejuice

Some laughs, but for a sold out showing I thought there would be a bit more vocal reactions from the audiences. Everyone still seemed like they enjoyed it though.

Not much of a reaction from crowd, I know I got into it. Great film, bit slow in the first half but picks up in the second. Thank goodness for the intermission was tired by end of it.

Trap

8/1 3PM

7 People.

Trailers:

City of Dreams

Heretic

I was surprised we only got 2 trailers because my Regal normally has half an hour's worth for new movies. Movie didn't get any reaction at all from my audience. Didn't seem like people were into it.

Kneecap

8/4 5:00 PM

Independent theater

Trailers:

Good one

Didi

Between the Temples

8 people I think

Crowd seemed into it. Also a couple walkouts, so 6 people at the end. Funny enough, there was a fan who wore the band t shirt to the screening and it looked like the people who came in other than me were a group.

Lawrence of Arabia

8/11 7:00 PM

3 people including myself

Fathom event so no trailers

One guy thought they forgot the film because of the overture at the beginning that ended just as he said that. Otherwise no reaction from others. I consider it a good film that has an excellent first half and an okay second half.

Alien Romulus 4DX

310 PM

...Outside of Phantom Menace, this was the single biggest crowd I've seen at the theater this year. For 4DX. Where tickets are like 18.37$ A family of about 6 people (including a kid under 10) got behind me with snacks. Just, wow.

  • Kraven the Hunter
  • See No Evil
  • Beetlejuice x2 *
  • Mufasa *
  • Captain America 4 *

the * movies had trailers that utilized 4DX as well, which made me more interested in watching them. Well, not Beetlejuice x 2. But Mufasa, maybe.

Compared to DBOX, this is a lot more intense, even before the atmosphere effects, which almost work against the movie. It was such a rollercoaster, me and the other woman in my row were laughing, it kind of took the intensity of the story away, but that's a nitpick.

it was really a lot of fun, there were a few reactions and everyone seemed quite into it.

Rear Window

Wed 8/28 7:00 PM

Regal Theater

11 People

Fathom event so no trailers, just ads for their upcoming releases.

Was a bit miffed from Leonard Maltin presentation about how the opening is slow and deliberate (no it isn't, it's economical and dense there's a difference) and how you can't imagine something like that done nowadays when Evil Does Not Exist and possibly in A Violent Nature (haven't seen it but from what I've seen of trailers it should open slow) have those slow openings and are successful critically.

Anyway movie was fantastic. Crowd was into it. Few claps at the end.
