SchumacherFTW
This is really odd. There's gaps for it to go into at my local but it hasn't popped up. Could Odeon have gotten into an arguement with Fox that we don't know about?
Jonwo
I think Hangover will be lower than part 2 because of the competition.
Jonwo
Has Die Hard been rated yet? Maybe Odeon arent scheduling it until they know the rating.
SchumacherFTW
It's been a 15 for a while. Vue and Cineworld have had times up since either monday or yesterday.
PhilipJ2001
it's still not been rated by the bbfc.
SchumacherFTW
I swear it was rated a couple of weeks ago. Still, it hasn't stopped Odeon from putting times up before.
PhilipJ2001
no i doubt that is the reason odeon don't have the times up. we were told to advertise it as a 15tbc but they are seeing what cuts would be needed for a 12a..
SchumacherFTW
Fair enough. They're definitely cutting it fine with this. I wonder when is the absolute latest a saturated release has been rated before.
JCS
Yes it has at £51,669,507.. And what did Avengers finish with? Not sure if the wiki list has an accurate figure so wanted confirmation that Hobbit had passed Avengers.
PatrickvD
Any predictions for Wreck-It Ralph? Tangled and Bolt both opened to around $8 million around the same time. I'm not too familiar with UK Box Office. Can we expect a similar number?
SchumacherFTW
Bolt was inflated by a week of 3D only previews so it's an unfair comparison, but I think it'a unlikely to reach Tangled's heights. At least for OW, it may do a similar total though as there is sod all for competition in that market. I think £4m this weekend is doable though. I've got my tickets booked for midday saturday though, and I cannot wait. It's been such a long wait!
PatrickvD
Ah good. I hope it does well. It sucks the UK always has to wait so long.

It's not always, but it's becoming a consistant thing that Disney release Thanksgiving releases for February half term here.

Don't mind as we get the big films early like Avengers.
The Dark Alfred
Die Hard is now on sale everywhere. I have Wreck-It at £3.5m, should win the weekend. Edited February 7, 2013 by Alfred Quintana
htall90
Cannot understand the huge wait for disney animation when it is a huge market for disney particularly for it's animated films look at toy story 3 one of the biggest movies in Uk history for example! It's one of those things really, they obviously see a benefit to releasing during this period otherwise it would be over christmas. I guess they do it as they usually get the market to themselves. htall90
Very true i remember Toy story 3 was released a month or so later in the Uk then it's US release but i suppose this was to take advantage of children's holidays in the summer.
